I always thought that Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream is all I need until I've tried the most expensive eye cream from a beautiful floral collaboration with Marymond - A.H.C The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face. Sounds strange? Why eye cream for a face? Does that have any logic? Oh, it does! A.H.C eye creams are probably the most popular K-beauty Eye Creams - from the release date brand has sold over 50 million of eye creams. I've checked it on my own and today I want to share with you my feelings about this cream. Was it worth the money?
Luxury skincare?
You can wonder what A.H.C stands for - the name A.H.C means Aesthetic Hydration Cosmetics, it has quite lots of sense but who would remember that? Probably me, as a skincare nerd I can save lots of data related to beauty in my brain just right next to all the skincare memes. There are three things which remind me of A.H.C - Anne Hathaway - which you can see in brand's commercials (Ultimate Real Eye Cream For Face Commercial), fancy packaging and this feeling of luxury skincare. Actually, I've paid only $40 for 3 eye creams but why I've mentioned that I used the most expensive eye cream? Normally, I would have to pay around $160 for the same set + shipping, that's quite a lot. The set contains 3 creams and they are all the same. Was it really worth $160? Or maybe this set is worth only $40?
We have to mention that the brand promotes this cream (or I should rather say series of eye creams) as the most popular eye cream in South Korea with sales around 50% what makes it the number one eye cream.
What's with the name "Eye Cream For Face"?
I'm sure you're aware that skin near the eye area is more sensitive than the skin on our foreheads or chins, because of that we need a special cream only for this specific area but A.H.C has decided to call eye cream with a name "eye cream for face" and I guess it was a smart move, even if eye cream is usually more lightweight and has better formulation than moisturizer, you can actually use eye cream on your face. A.H.C did a good move to call cream in this way, the texture is rich, it reminds a lightweight moisturizer, it works well on eye area but actually, you can use it on your entire face! I use this cream on areas where you can get wrinkles, I've heard this tip couple years ago at work and since then it's one of the things I always do during my routine. According to the website, this series of products should brighten the skin, hydrate and nourish the skin, but the most important - increase the elasticity. The version I got is called The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face but there are 5 other choices such as Real Eye Cream For Face that contains EGF, a peptide which I personally really like. Then we've got option called Premium Real Eye Cream For Face - a brightening cream, another version is Private Real Eye Cream For Face - focused on skin elasticity. Don't get confused since another cream in this series is called THE Real Eye Cream For Face - an ultra moisturizer. Another version is called Ultimate Real Eye Cream For Face - this one is told to me quickly absorbed. The version I got - The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face is a low-irritating and whitening version, I didn't know about differences before but I did a good choice. All of the creams are supposed to be anti-aging creams.
Are ingredients even a bit luxurious?
What would you expect from luxurious eye cream? Probably peptides, EGF or FGF, rare ingredients, etc. But how does this cream look like?
Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Cyclohexasiloxane, Camellia Japonica Flower Extract, Cetyl Alcohol, Salvia Miltiorrhiza Root Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Algae Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Leaf, Centella Asiatica Extract, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Acmella Oleracea Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Extract, Juniperus Communis Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Rhododendron Ferrugineum Extract, Sambucus Nigra Flower Extract, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Phaseolus Lunatus (Green Bean) Seed Extract, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract, Lepidium Meyenii Root Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract, Pancratium Maritimum Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, rgania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Water, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Phytosteryl/Behenyl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, Behenyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Glyceryl Stearate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Beta-Glucan, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Arginine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cholesterol, Oleanolic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol, Ceramide, Dextrin, Trisodium EDTA, Panthenol, Raffinose, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Dipropylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Folic Acid, Sodium Palmitoyl Proline, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sucrose, Acrylates Copolymer, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Rutin, Hydrolyzed Lupine Protein, Tromethamine, Maltodextrin, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester, VP/Polycarbamyl Polyglycol Ester, Saccharide Hydrolysate, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Pentylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Hydrolyzed Sesame Protein PG-Propyl Methylsilanediol, Phytosphingosine, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Ascorbic Acid Polypeptide, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Nonapeptide-1, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14, Hexapeptide-9
It might look scary but these ingredients aren't as scary as they look like. Although we will find here ingredients which can be comedogenic or bad for sensitive skin, I'll discuss that later but let's focus on what's inside for a bit. The base for this product is Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, I think it's a good choice since Rice Extract is a source of Vitamin E and many minerals, it's an antioxidant so the main quest for this ingredient is to slow down the ageing process. It's a bit surprising that A.H.C has decided to use Coconut Water instead of Aqua and still put it on the 2nd place than 1st which is a typical thing in cosmetics - Aqua/Water is usually first. But that's a good move since couple first ingredients are always the most important. I know that people have different opinions about Glycerin but I'm glad it's on a 3rd place since eye area is more sensitive, it's more delicate and a good humectant is needed. I'm surprised to see here Acmella Oleracea Extract which is called "a herbal botox", at least in Poland. This cream does contain peptides and ceramide, it also contains Centella, Arbutin and Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid. According to the A.H.C website, this cream is made with 91% of natural ingredients.
There's a good mix of oils like Meadowfoam Oil, Coconut Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Argan Oil, Rose Oil, Macadamia Oil or Sunflower Oil. There's also a Palm Oil which I personally hate, I'm also not a fan of Macadamia Oil or Sweet Almond Oil - hopefully, I haven't seen this one here. There are some essential oils too but the good information is that the concentration of these ingredients is not as high as with first main ingredients but still it's good to make a patch test before you use this product. Some ingredients might be comedogenic but if you personally I didn't have any reactions on my skin - neither comedogenic nor allergic ones but every skin reaction can be different.
What about whitening and skin elasticity?
It's easier to care now than heal later if it comes to wrinkles, I can't see a big improvement since I shouldn't have problems with wrinkles because of my age (early 20's) but I work in front of computer a lot, I've got problem with sleep and somehow when I use this cream you can't really see if I'm tired or not. I feel like it does really help with dark circles under the eyes, the absorption of this cream is ideal - with Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream my biggest problem was cream "rolling" - when I put too much of Innisfree Eye Cream on my face it won't fully get absorbed, but still it was a good moisturizer that's the main reason why I prefer to go with this A.H.C cream - absorption is better, ingredients in this version are good and you can get 3 creams in the same price or very similar as Innisfree Eye Cream, we also have to focus on container - A.H.C tube is safer to use and Innisfree is in a jar without spatula. The formula might not be ideal for sensitive cream even if this version is low-irritating, it's very personal thing but if you want to try any of A.H.C creams and your skin is sensitive then this one, in my opinion, is the best choice.
Differences between A.H.C. versions - ingredients & properties.
I've decided to a small guide focused on what's on the website and what's inside the product to help you find the ideal version for you, this guide is based on Season 5 of A.H.C Eye Creams - with a small exception, the Ultimate Eye Cream For Face is based on Season 6.
Real Eye Cream For Face
This version is a version with EGF, I barely ever see it online it seems to be discontinued but I might be wrong. This one should be all about improving skin elasticity and anti-ageing.
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Dipentaerythrityl Hexa C5-9 Acid Esters, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/ Dicaprate, Glycereth-26, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Jojoba esters, Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil, Betaine, Glycosyl Trehalose, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Butyrospermum Parkii, Oenothera Biennis Oil, Panthenol, Phytosteryl/ Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Beeswax, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Niacinamide, Behenyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Trehalose, Acetyl Glucosamine, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Sodium Hyaluronate, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/ stem Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Allium Cepa Bulb Extract, PEG-8, Ceramide 3, Cholesterol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propylparaben, Xanthan Gum, Laureth-7, Butylparaben, Adenosine, Trisodium EDTA, PEG-8/SMDI Copolymer, BHT, Piper Methysticum Leaf/root/ stem Extract, Human Oligopeptide-1, Copper Tripeptide-1, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, RH-Polypeptide-1, Fragrance, Prunus Persica Callus Culture Extract
The base of this cream is different - Water takes the first place, then Glycerin. Macadamia Oil is higher, I can see here Shea Butter - that's also good, but this version is more chemical - there's a PEG-8, BHT and parabens like Propylparaben. There's also a Fragrance ingredient which I personally do not like. I can't really see here essential oils but there's a Niacinamide which I wish I could see in The Pure version. Where's EGF in this cream? It's hidden under the name Human Oligopeptide-1
Premium Real Eye Cream For Face
This version is all about wrinkle and skin elasticity improvement and whitening. It contains Niacinamide and peptides, including EGF. Then what's different?
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Xylitol, Petrolatum, Cyclopentasiloxane, Diisostearyl Malate, Dipropylene Glycol, Myristyl Myristate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Niacinamide, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Mineral Oil, Behenyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric/Myristic/Stearic Triglyceride, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil, Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Chenopodium Quinoa Seed Extract, Leucojum Aestivum Bulb Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Sophora Flavescens Root Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Opuntia Tuna Fruit Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Lycium Chinense Fruit, Vaccinium Macrocarpon, Fragaria Chiloensis (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Morus Nigra Fruit Extract, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Rubus Coreanus Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Aristotelia Chilensis Fruit Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Beheneth-20, Pentylene Glycol, Sorbitan Stearate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Adenosine, Betaine, Alpha-Bisabolol, Trehalose, Panthenol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sucrose Dilaurate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polysorbate 20, Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ubiquinone, Squalane, sh-Oligopeptide-1, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Ceramide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Alcohol Denat., BHT, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance
This version is better than basic one, it has better ingredients. It still contains Niacinamide, I can also spot here Adenosine which I really like in products. If you can't spot EGF (sh-EGF), it's hidden under the name sh-Oligopeptide-1 - sh stand for Synthetic Human, that's why it looks bit different than in basic version of the cream. This version contains Alcohol Denat which is quite low and which can be helpful in this case. It also contains Squalane which is a good thing since Squalane naturally occurs in sebum but with time we're losing it, it helps with natural lipid barrier and skin elasticity. This version is also full of Fruit Extracts.
Private Real Eye Cream For Face
This version is also supposed to focus on wrinkles, skin elasticity and whitening. It should be more nourishing than other versions and mostly focused on skin elasticity.
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Niacinamide, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Arctium Lappa Root Extract, Polyquaternium-51, Phytosteryl/Behenyl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Phellodendron Amurense Bark Extract, Piper Methysticum Leaf/Root/Stem Extract, Collagen Extract, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Phaseolus Lunatus (Green Bean) Seed Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water, Polysorbate 60, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Polyacrylate-13, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Dimethiconol, Polysorbate 20, Polyisobutene, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, PEG-75 Stearate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ceteth-20, Steareth-20, Xanthan Gum, Schizosaccharomyces Ferment Extract Filtrate, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Alcohol, Ceramide 3, Theanine, Triethylhexanoin, Cholesterol, Milk Lipids, Caramel, Folic Acid, Hydrogenated Phosphatidylcholine, Glutathione, Isostearyl Isostearate, Propylene Glycol, Raffinose, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Potassium C11-15 Alkyl Phosphate, Lecithin, Acetic Acid, Rutin, Inulin Lauryl Carbamate, Tocopheryl Linoleate, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Hydrolyzed Lupine Protein, Lactic Acid, Phytosphingosine, Tromethamine, Ceramide 2, Sorbitan Laurate, Acacia Senegal Gum, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl, Citric Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Sorbic Acid, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Acetyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate
The most visible change is in Bifida Ferment Lysate - other creams do not contain it, in fact, the fermentation process increases product absorption. This version contains Centella and Evening Primrose Oil. It also contains Alcohol but it's not a bad thing in this case too since Alcohol is quite low and it can be helpful. There are still some peptides but this version is not full of Fruit Extracts, it's more focused on fermentation.
The Real Eye Cream For Face
I feel like this version is the most popular version. Again it's all about wrinkles, skin elasticity and whitening but this one is promoted with NMF - Natural Moisturizing Factor, it should be more hydrating than other versions.

This version contains Rice Extract in the first place instead of Water. It contains lots of natural extracts and oils, but still, we can find here Fragrance, Alcohol or Ammonia - which is quite new but not the best. Is it really a good moisturizer? There's Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Betaine, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Phaseolus Lunatus Seed Extract, Argan Oil and many other humectants or emollients.
The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face
This post is about this cream so go up to see the ingredients. This version is also focused on wrinkle and skin elasticity improvement, it should be a whitening version. The main change is in the formula, it should be less irritating but it contains lots of essential oils and natural extracts so it's better to do a patch test if you're sensitive.
Ultimate Real Eye Cream For Face
This version is still focused on wrinkles, skin elasticity and whitening but this one is all about quick absorption. This version is the newest eye cream from A.H.C, it's based on Peptide patent owned by A.H.C

I'm surprised since A.H.C has decided to remove Water and on first two places we can see Rice Extract and Lactobacillus Ferment, as I said before the fermentation process helps with product absorption. This version contains Niacinamide, Aloe Extract, Centella and in general, it looks like The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face on steroids - it contains peptides such as EGF or Argireline (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8). It contains Fragrance ingredient.
Overall, if I would have to choose I would probably go for The Real Eye Cream For Face, The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face or Ultimate Real Eye Cream For Face. Is there a price difference? The thing is that you can find this product at different prices 10$ up to even 300$ depends on the shop, if you check Korean A.H.C website then 30 ml creams costs about 45,000 KRW to 60,000 KRW which is about 43-55$. The sets of 3 creams costs on website 232,000 KRW which is about 215$ but as I said online shops have really different prices, I got a set for $40 and it was worth the price, especially because it's a limited edition, I wrote before about Marymond while I was reviewing A'pieu x Marymond cushion, you can check there what's going on since I wanted to mostly focus on cream. Is this cream worth its price? Yes, even $50 because of the technology used in this product, peptides aren't cheap even if you can get them in such small concentration still creams with peptides or creams based on some unique are usually quite expensive.
