Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream

How does the perfect cream for combination skin look? During my internship as an esthetician, I heard at least ten times how my clients are annoyed with combo skin. The main problem was the balance, T-zone is oily while cheeks and chin are dry. Should I care more about my T-zone or U-zone? The end of the dilemma for combo skin is here, and the solution was simple. K-beauty brand called Axis-y has an answer - Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream.

About Axis-y

Axis-y is quite a young K-beauty brand. According to Axis-y's Facebook page, the brand was founded in December 2019. The brand makes climate inspired skincare solutions. What does that mean? Our skin has to deal with lots of danger like pollution, UV radiation (free radicals) and the change of weather and temperatures. The real challenge for the skincare brand is to make a product that will be effective, and at the same time, it'll deal with our lifestyles. All products from Axis-y contain natural plant extracts, and the brand itself believes that skincare should be personal. The company keeps a great connection with customers on Instagram which I think is crucial for beauty brands - we might not always agree, but respecting each other is better than some companies who try to bully people for saying their honest opinion out loud. All Axis-y products contain 6-1-1 Advanced Formula which should work for problematic skin as well as for people in humid climates.

First impression

This post is a first impression post, I'll update it later because I believe that to see any results on the skin we need at least 28-days - that's how long on average takes skin cycle. Packaging Axis-y design is minimalistic and somehow it reminds me of cosmeceuticals or professional herbal products. I love the prescription-like design of the information about the cream. Inside the box, we can find a jar with two different formulas. I've heard that some people compared the design of Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream to Neogen Joan's Cream. The design might be similar, but other brands used similar solutions before Axis-y and Neogen. I'll say the same thing about packaging as I said in Neogen's case - one lid for both creams? Why not separate lids? It would be easier since every time I open and close the cream small parts of both formulas are getting mixed. The product contains spatula which is a huge benefit in my opinion. All Axis-y products have turquoise and white colours. The jar contains 60 ml of products - 30 ml each.

Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream - Texture

We've got two different textures. T-Zone Cream has a very lightweight and cooling formula. It has a blue colour thanks to Guaiazulene and it feels like a water drop that easily gets absorbed by the skin. I can say it's a gel-like formula. It leaves a light film on the skin making the skin smooth. The U-Zone Cream formula is rich, but don't expect a formula typical for emollients - an ointment or heavy cream. It's still a lightweight cream, but it's more like a wet cream lighter than glycerin hand moisturizer.

Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream - Scent

Both T-Zone and U-Zone creams have no scent which is a great thing for every person with sensitive skin and nose sensitive to scents. You won't find here any essential oils.

Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream - Ingredients

Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream is made out of two different parts of a moisturizer. Ceramide U-Zone Cream is a rich moisturizer for dry skin, while Heartleaf T-Zone Cream is a lightweight moisturizer for oily skin. Axis-y is a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly brand. All formulas are free from mineral oil, artificial colourants, flavours and fragrances. They are also free from parabens, so if you're not a fan of them - that might be a good choice for you.

Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream - T Zone Cream

Water, Propanediol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Sorbitol, Isohexadecane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Betaine, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Sorghum Bicolor Leaf/Stem Extract, Aspergillus Ferment, Chlorphenesin, Arginine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Allantoin, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan Gum, Guaiazulene

Propanediol is a solvent used in green skincare. Glycerin is an ingredient which you probably know the best. It's one of the best moisturizers you can use in a skincare product, just like Sodium Hyaluronate - another excellent moisturizer. Still, the main star here is Houttuynia Cordata Extract. Heartleaf is a plant used for ages in Chinese Traditional Medicine as well as Korean Traditional Medicine. According to Axis-y, Houttuynia prevents UV damage, protects skin from bacteria and fungi and moderates sebum production. Heartleaf is an antioxidant with antibacterial properties and it's ideal for sensitive skin. Many K-beauty brands started to use it as the main star ingredient right after Centella and not-so-effective, but still popular - Mugwort (Artemisia). Centella Asiatica Extract is well-known for its healing properties. Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Extract is another antioxidant used by Axis-y. It has soothing and antimicrobial properties. It's effective for acne-prone skin, especially if you have problems with sebum production. Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract is one of my favourite ingredients for acne-prone skin. It has brightening properties, but it also has a calming effect.

According to Axis-y, Sorghum Bicolor Leaf/Stem Extract brightens the skin and helps with wrinkles. I guess that one of the ingredients called Aspergillus Ferment is hiding under the Antoxyl_S II name on Axis-y's website. Fermented ingredients are great for our skin since they are easier to get through the layers of the skin and they usually work as probiotics or substances that can change the plans of free radicals - they just simply protect the skin. Chlorphenesin is a preservative and Arginine is a Natural Moisturizing Factor. Allantoin is a great soothing moisturizer which you might remember from the old days when Allantoin and Panthenol ointments were popular for kids. Guaiazulene is a natural blue dye, but it also has anti-inflammatory properties. In Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream the blue pigment is bit less visible than pigment in Klairs formulas.

Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream - U Zone Cream

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isohexadecane, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide NP, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Microcrystalline Wax, Sorbitol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Candelilla Cera, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Sorghum Bicolor Leaf/Stem Extract, Aspergillus Ferment, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Phragmites Communis Extract, Chlorphenesin, Arginine, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin

The U-Zone cream has some ingredients similar to T-Zone Cream. Cetyl Ethylhexanoateis an emollient. Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil is a wax, not an oil, but some people say it's an ingredient very similar to human sebum that's why it's so good for oily skin. It's an emollient and moisturizer ideal for acne-prone skin. According to Axis-y, Ceramide NP protects the skin barrier, prevents skin from moisture loss and environmental damage. Ceramides naturally occur in lipid barrier, when your skin gets dehydrated it's a great product to make your skin barrier stronger. It's like cement for the skin. Candelilla Cera is an emollient, it makes the skin smooth. Portulaca Oleracea Extract is a Purslane Extract, plant used in Korean Traditional Medicine, it's a soothing antioxidant, but it can speed up the healing progress. Under the name, Salicornia Herbacea Extract hides Glassworth. According to Axis-y, Glassworth strengths skin barrier and moisturizes the skin. It's a brightening moisturizer. Phragmites Communis Extract is also called Reed - a brightening ingredient that protects skin from free radicals.

Axis-y Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream - First Impression

I'll share with you my first impressions and then update this post. It's a love from first sight! I'm struggling a lot with finding an ideal moisturizer lately - lots of moisturizers I've tried like Tonymoly Intensive Green Tea Cream made my skin dehydrated or caused acne and somehow this one feels like heaven on my skin. I love the smooth feeling on my face, the skin doesn't feel rough anymore and you can't even notice where I put U-Zone or T-Zone cream - they just balance the skin on point. To see how the cream works it's better to wait a couple of hours. I put the moisturizer during the night routine, and in the morning my skin gave me first reactions to the cream. The U-Zone cream got my heart! It's ideal for my skin during the autumn and winter seasons, it balances the skin and the lack of scent is a benefit. The T-zone cream feels bit sticky and my skin is still oily in the morning, but I guess I'll need to try it a bit longer to see the effects. I feel like T-zone cream is better for the summer than autumn. Once I give it a longer try I'll let you know if my opinion has changed, but at the moment - U-Zone cream is amazing, but T-Zone cream? I have mixed feelings about it.
