One of the best thing in a growing popularity of K-beauty brands is the fact that our home brands try to change products, to adapt them to the newest trends. Even if essences aren't very popular yet and still many people think that essence is not necessary, SVR decided to release their own essence. But is it as good as Missha's essence or any other Asian essence?

Couple words about the brand
According to SVR website, SVR is a dermatological brand from France, made in 1962 by two pharmacists. Their vision was to make ideal products to make skin beautiful and flawless. All the products are good for sensitive skin and right now SVR is available in 45 different countries.

Packaging
200 ml bottle with a funny screw-on top - just turn it and you can use it. It's a very comfortable solution but for me - I never tried anything like that before and I don't like to clean the bottle top after every use. It's easier to apply this product on your hands than on a cotton pad (that's a plus for me - you don't waste product & cotton pads).

Skin Type
Series hydraliane is made for dehydrated skin. The producer does not limit this product for only sensitive skin or dry skin. I can easily say that every skin type can get some benefits from using this product.

Ingredients
Aqua (Purified Water), Propanediol, Glycerin, Magnesium Gluconate, Manganese Gluconate, Zinc Gluconate, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyglyceryl-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Saccharide Isomerate, Sodium Hyaluronate*, 1,2-Hexanediol, Citric Acid, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum (Fragrance).

Ingredients are pretty short, as always water is the base of a product. Propanediol is a good moisturiser and natural preservative. Magnesium Gluconate - this one helps with many different skin problems like wounds, sunburns, wrinkles and inflammation. Manganese Gluconate - good moisturiser, anti-wrinkle agent and antioxidant. Zinc Gluconate - this ingredient will be your favourite if you've got acne-prone skin, it doesn't only make your skin matte but it can help you regulate sebum production and reduce pores. Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil - let's call it an ingredient which we rather prefer to avoid.  Polyglyceryl-7 Glyceryl Cocoate repairs lipid barrier. Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum - good moisturiser, Saccharide Isomerate - helps with inflammation, besides moisture, this one can help with wrinkles and eczema. Sodium Hyaluronate increases collagen production, it'll humidify your skin and make it brighter. 1,2-Hexanediol - a preservative with an antibacterial attribute. Citric Acid - soft exfoliator, helps with pigmentation and skin brightening, it makes skin more tender but be careful with this ingredient if your skin is sensitive - as you can see it's an acid. Pentylene Glycol - moisturiser, Sodium Citrate - moisturiser and pH balancer, Sodium Lactate - depends on concentration, it might make your skin softer, but if you increase the concentration of this ingredient it'll exfoliate your skin.  Sodium Benzoate - a preservative, Parfum (Fragrance) - aroma, usually synthetic and not good for our health.

Smell & Texture
The smell is very delicate and nice, after couple seconds you won't feel it. The texture is similar to Klairs Toner - it's way heavier than rose water or micellar solution. That's the magic of an essence - it just feels like the weight of essence is heavier but if you put this product on your skin you won't feel it.

How does it work for me

I must admit - I won't tell you that this product is the best essence I've ever tried because I've tried different essence once and I can see the difference. It's a good product but my skin is a combination skin and even if I use strong acids and it works for me, it might be not as effective on dry skin as on my skin. For sure it's a product which I can recommend but if you need a very strong moisturiser then I would rather recommend you Korean and Japanese essences.

Additional information

This product is recommended for sensitive skin. I couldn't find the information if this brand is suitable for vegans & vegetarians but looks like it's not.

Overall/Sum up
It's a good product and I'm satisfied with it, but I'm not sure if I'll repurchase it - although the price is quite affordable in comparison to some K-beauty or Japanese brands, but I'm still searching for better product, if you prefer to try something European instead of Asian products then it's a choice for you. I'm happy that any European brand decided to make own version of the essence and did quite a good job.

And have you tried this product yet? Do you know SVR? Do you like essences or maybe you've never heard about it?
