Finding an ideal foundation for pale skin is very hard. I'm still searching for an ideal one - the one with an ideal coverage, shade and formula. I really like Klairs if it comes to my skincare so I've decided to give a chance to their Mochi BB Cushion Pact. Was it worth it?

Couple words about the brand
Klairs is a cruelty-free cosmetic brand. It was founded in 2009 and the main motto of this company is 'Simple but enough' so we won't find multiple products for different skin types - all Klairs products are suitable for every skin type. You won't find ingredients such as colourants, parabens, synthetic fragrances or harsh chemicals in their products. According to producer's website all the products are suitable for vegetarians, only couple products are good for vegans but the brand is working right now on changing all the formulas to make their products good for vegans too.

Packaging
Just look how cute this product looks - it's cute and it really fits Klairs' product portfolio - they kept the minimal look of the packaging. What I personal like is the additional lid - just turn it right or left and you'll open or close the cushion. The sponge is the cutest sponge I've ever seen, unfortunately, with my skills, this sponge is going to be dirty and that literally makes me cry. The good news is that Klairs released the refill set to this bb cushion and that's a big plus if you enjoy this product - you can save up some money, the refill set contains 2 refill pouches, 2 sponges and 2 mochi puffs.

Skin Type
It's not a surprise - this cushion should fit all skin types. Personally, I think that normal skin type should enjoy it as well as dry skin. For combination or oily skin, it's not a good choice.

Ingredients
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Butylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Betaine, Titanium Dioxide, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Niacinamide, Polysorbate 60, Dimethicone, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Silica, Zinc Oxide, Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Bentonite, Sodium Chloride, Yellow Oxide Of Iron, Red Oxide Of Iron, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Black Oxide Of Iron, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance, Centella Asiatica Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Piper Methysticum Leaf/Root/Stem Extract, Adenosine, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract, Hibiscus Esculentus Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Arctium Lappa Root Extract, Hibiscus Mutabilis Flower Extract, Corchorus Olitorius Leaf Extract, Vitis Vinifera(Grape) callus culture Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Callus Culture Extract

I'm sure you all are interested in ingredients but let me make it shorter than usual. Acne prone skin can get a lot of benefits from Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice. We've got here quite a big amount of ingredients related to UV protection, this product is not only based on mineral sunscreens but also on chemical ones but chemical sunscreens aren't always good - skin can react to them. On mineral site we've got Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, chemical ones are Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate - also known as OctinoxateIsoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate - also known as Amiloxate, according to EWG this substance is safe in use, but according to European law, it can be used in limited concentration. Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate - same situation as with Amiloxate, this substance is safe to use (according to EWG) and it can be used in limited concentration. Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine - known as Bemotrizinol - use of this substance is limited by European law, there's no information whether this substance is safe in use or not. Besides these ingredients, I can spot Tocopheryl Acetate - an ester form of vitamin E, Niacinamide - vitamin B3, good for acne prone skin and Adenosine - a substance that helps with wrinkles.
On the other hand, we've got here Fragrance and Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone - both substances aren't good for health.

Smell & Texture

The smell of the product is very neutral and the texture is pretty standard, for me the formula is too weak and it's hard to apply it.

How does it work for me?
I've got a very troubled skin full of pigmentation marks, you know how much I love Klairs but none of their "pigmented products" - the BB cream or their BB cushion doesn't work for me. The colour is too dark, it doesn't hide any dark spots - the coverage is very weak, even my Tonymoly Pokemon mini cushion has better coverage than this product. Also, it's not a long lasting product - it stays on my skin for maybe 2 hours and then it disappears. I feel like I've wasted my money on the cute packaging because even when I'm at home I see no sense in using it. This product has SPF 40 - it's not that bad and that's maybe the only benefit of this product.

Additional Information

The Mochi BB Cushion Pact won the Glowpick Consumer Beauty Award in 2016. You can get a refill set on wishtrend's site - it costs only 9$ and it saves a lot of the money - you don't have to buy a new product. This product contains SPF 40 and according to the producer, it is suitable for vegetarians. There's a trick with finishing - if you want a glow finishing press the sponge for a minute and put it onto your face if you want a matte finishing then you'll need to flip the sponge inside the pack - more specific information are here.

Sum up
Honestly, I'm very disappointed with this product, for me, it's only a nice looking packaging with nothing else to offer. If you have normal skin and you're not as pale as me then go for it. If you have an oily skin or very pale skin - it's not worth it. I really like the idea of the refills - all the fans of this product will enjoy this option, it helps you save over 10$ on the product.

And what's your opinion of this product? Do you know this brand? Would you like to try this cushion? What's your favourite cushion?
