I am a big nerd - I can admit it, it's not like I call myself nerd because of my work - I just love playing video games and both me and my best friends we've got our own slang - we can talk for hours about different games, TV shows or even about some IT stuff. But we're also women - we have to talk about guys & cosmetics (ok, we usually talking how we are going to die as single ladies with 20 cats) and when we saw the Pokemon themed beauty product from Tonymoly we started to search them on ebay. Hopefully for me thanks to the awesome blog called Interedo and the giveaway action I was able to test Tonymoly Pokemon Pikachu Mini Cover Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ in a shade #23.

Couple words about brand
Tonymoly is a South Korean brand. They started to make so many cute and useful beauty products in 2006. Right now Tonymoly is popular all over the world, their products are even available in Sephora. They have many cute products but they also have very good skincare lines such as The Chok Chok Green Tea series.

Packaging
It's a type of cushion which I really like - the foundation puff is really good, I like it better than the foundation puff which you can find in Missha's cushions. This product is very small so it takes less space in your cosmetic bag than a regular cushion. I like the applicator - air puff which looks like a small Pokeball. I must admit the packaging looks adorable.

Skin Type
This product should work for any skin type but I recommend it for normal skin type.

Ingredients
Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Isotridecyl Isononanoate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Glycerin, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Lauryl PEG-10 Tris(Trimethylsiloxy)silylethyl Dimethicone, Niacinamide, Mica, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Boron Nitride, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Extract, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Aloe Barbensis Leaf Extract, Silica, 1,2-Hexanediol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Aluminum Hydroxide, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethicone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Phenoxyethanol, CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499, Fragrance

Let's start with bad ingredients: Lauryl PEG-10 Tris(Trimethylsiloxy)silylethyl Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol and Fragrance (usually a synthetic substance that gives a smell to the product). We don't like them in our skincare and makeup products. On the other hand, we've got here Titanium Dioxide - a mineral sunscreen and Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate - a chemical sunscreen which I personally prefer to avoid. There's also Niacinamide - good brightener and Adenosine - anti-wrinkle ingredient. Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Extract and Aloe Barbensis Leaf Extract are two good ingredients for acne-prone skin. Even sensitive skin will like Aloe in this product. Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil is nothing else than argan oil - it's an oil full of good substances such as vitamin E and omega acids. Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract is an anti-wrinkle ingredient, it makes our skin looking soft and relaxed. Portulaca Oleracea Extract is a soothing ingredient. I was surprised with the presence of Boron Nitride here - it's a sebum absorber.

Smell & Texture
The smell for me is pretty neutral - it's neither good nor bad. The texture is creamy and it's easy to apply this cushion, the inner sponge is really easy to use.

How does it work for me
The application process is very easy, my only problem is that it doesn't really go well with my pores - they are very visible but it's easy to fix this problem with a good primer. It does hide all the imperfections on my skin and shade #23 fits my skin quite well but the problem is in durability. After 3 hours I've got a liquid foundation on my skin - it just works neither on bare face nor on my skincare products. After 3 hours it smudges a lot and fixing powder doesn't help it. I had no acne after using this product and that's a good sign. It's a very small cushion so it will last maybe one month of everyday use.

Additional Information
This product is not suitable for vegans & vegetarians. There are two shades available #01 (#21) & #02 (#23) - the difference between both shades is really small. This cushion contains high SPF50+/PA+++.

Where to get it
You can get this Tonymoly Pokemon Pikachu Mini Cover Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ on Ebay.

Sum up
I have to admit that I've got mix feelings because it's not the best cushion foundation but on the other hand, I was thinking that tonymoly can do worse with makeup products. The packaging is really cute. It might be a nice present for a Pokemon fan.

How do you like this product? Have you also watched Pokemon as a child? Is there any limited series that you want to try?
