I never thought that Nivea can make me excited like it did couple weeks ago with new limited series of body mousses. Nivea is a brand which all of you probably know - for me, Nivea Cream was one of the first things I spotted in the bathroom when I was a child. My grandma uses a big Nivea box which she once got to store all the tiny stuff related to me like my band from the hospital when I was born so naturally, I've got a sentiment to this brand. But this time I feel like Nivea grew up with me - I'm a tea lover, so when I saw Wild Raspberry & White Tea and Cucumber Touch & Matcha Tea I felt like, hey that's not the Nivea I know, that's like an updated version!
The love & hate relationship
I'm not new to body mousses - honestly, there's something about body mousses that makes me go for them instead for shower gels. I think it's foam and scent - no I do not mistake them for face foam or a cake topping but I feel like they give me a bit of fun during the bath (ugh that sounds so bad). I've tried many different brands and I always had positive feelings about it. Of course, I can complain about the ingredients, but I mostly complain about "keep it away from heat" - I know that if something like body mousses exists they must be safe but it always feels like living on the edge. Somehow my face foams do not contain such information, why body mousses can't be similar, I wouldn't be so scared of living on the edge every time someone wants to smoke in my bathroom.
Can you smell some tea?
I believe that we are all used to Nivea's branding - the blue and white colours characteristic for this brand. But this time we get some watercolour shades which make them unique even if you look at the shelf in a shop - it makes you wanna buy them. And the tea - I'm all about tea so if you call anything tea or matcha it's obvious that I'm going to smell it for an hour at the shop (ok maybe 15 minutes) - hopefully, this time Nivea gave us scratch & sniff option - to make sure that I can't exist without this scent. Honestly, I do not smell tea on both products but for sure I can smell some summery scents that can help me survive the worst part of the year - the one in which warm bath is like hell, Nivea brings us cooling effect mixed with delicate hydration this time.
Ideal for summer & spring
My skin is super dry and I can easily feel if the product works for me, Nivea Wild Raspberry & White Tea and Cucumber Touch & Matcha Tea Body Mousses aren't products that you can use during the bath and skip the lotion or body butter after - at least not on my skin but they are products which will give your skin cooling effect, nice scent and a bit of nourishing. I feel like my skin after every use was soft and bouncy, I had no allergic reactions which for me is an important thing but I'm sure that you're interested what we can find in these products?
Nivea Cucumber Touch & Matcha Tea Body Mousse
Aqua, Glycerin, Isobutane, C15-19 Alkane, Isopropyl Palmitate, Paraffinum Liquidum, Alcohol Denat, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Propane, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Butane, Trisodium EDTA, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Limonene, Linalool, Parfum
I've got mixed feelings to this scent, it's nice but it's not my cup of tea. It's refreshing though and that's why I feel like this one is a must-have for summer.
Nivea Wild Raspberry & White Tea Body Mousse
Aqua, Glycerin, Isobutane, C15-19 Alkane, Isopropyl Palmitate, Paraffinum Liquidum, Alcohol Denat, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Propane, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Dimethicone, Butane, Trisodium EDTA, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol, Benzyl Alcohol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Parfum
I prefer this scent - it's nice and it makes me feel awake and fresh. This scent is sweeter and it feels more suitable for spring.
Let's focus on ingredients
As you can see the differences between the products are minimal - maybe different orders of some ingredients and Benzyl Alcohol in Wild Raspberry & White Tea version. The ingredients aren't ideal: Isopropyl Palmitate, Alcohol Denat, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE and lots of scent ingredients that might be allergic but Nivea doesn't say it's an eco brand so I do not expect a lot.
Nivea started to change in a good way and I feel very positive about this change. Maybe one day they'll go for healthier ingredients or eco/bio cosmetic line? Who knows, overall I really enjoyed these limited versions of body mousses and I can't wait to see what's next. Both products cost about €3.99 each for 200 ml, it's not a bad price. You can easily find this series in Poland, Germany and UK, some sellers also sell it on eBay.
What do you think about these products? Do you use body mousses?
