Usually, when I see pads I think about scrubs that are less gentle and not suitable for sensitive skin so when I saw Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad I was a bit confused - how can a pad be gentle and work well? It sounds impossible even if it's totally possible. The whole secret is one ingredient - Lactobionic Acid and texture made especially for sensitive skin. How do Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad work and how to add this product to your routine?
A bit about Neogen and Cica series
I feel like I don't need to introduce you to Neogen as a brand - it's well known South Korean skincare brand that mixes modern technologies with natural ingredients. The Cica series is all about ingredient known as Tiger Grass or Gotu Kola - Centella Asiatica, a very delicate ingredient that can actually help you with the healing process, skin barrier and acne. I tried this series before, you can find a full review of Neogen Cica Micellar Cleansing Oil and Neogen Cica Micellar Cleansing Foam in a post called Cica Power To Cleanse Your Skin: Neogen Cica Micellar Cleansing Oil & Neogen Cica Micellar Cleansing Foam. Both products are my favourite for current skincare routine.

Packaging is a key to success?
Neogen is probably the first brand that used dark pink shade for Centella, usually, Centella reminds me of green packaging. The big box of pads might seem to take lots of places and it does but we have to remember that this box contains 90 pads which is quite a big number. The jar has another layer of protection which you have to remove before the first use. The packaging is really safe but I'm not sure how it'll work for travelling because it's a huge packaging and personally I had some issues with spilling the solution for the packaging in similar products - maybe that's only my luck. I'm totally aware that this type of packaging has lots of fans.
The texture and smell of Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad
The pads itself has a very delicate scent and they are ultra thin! If you remember my review of Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Lemon - this peeling is in similar form but the pads were thicker and had this option to put the pad on your fingers - these ones don't have this option but they are more gentle. The texture is delicate - pads aren't totally flat but the pattern on a pad won't make you hurt your skin. To understand how these pads work we need to look deeper.

Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad - ingredients
The ingredients in Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad are an interesting composition, just give it a small look and you will understand.
Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Madecassoside, Lactobionic Acid, Gluconolactone, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Octyldodecanol, Ceramide NP(Ceramide 3), Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Allantoin, Betaine, Panthenol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tromethamine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Xanthan Gum, Propanediol, Diglycerin, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Disodium EDTA
Do you want Centella? Here you'll get even more. Centella Asiatica Extract, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid and Madecassoside - it's a mix of Centella and ingredients related to Centella. All of them have amazing properties - they speed up the healing process, they can calm the skin and regenerate the skin barrier. We can't deny, this mixture is important for sensitive skin but how the exfoliation is possible? Cica Pads are based on two exfoliating ingredients - Lactobionic Acid and Gluconolactone. PHA, polyhydroxy acid is considered to be the most delicate chemical exfoliator. So this duo of PHA acids are not as powerful as AHA but if your skin is sensitive your skin might react better to PHA. Both Lactobionic Acid and Gluconolactone remove dead cells from the skin but also moisture the skin. Even if this product contains moisturizing and soothing ingredients like Panthenol, Allantoin, Hyaluronic Acid and Sodium Hyaluronate I want to focus a little on Ceramide NP. Ceramides can be naturally found in the skin, they make skin barrier and to keep your skin healthy, adding products with Ceramides are a good way to prevent your skin from damaged skin barrier and critical skin condition. But as usual, there are ingredients that some people prefer to avoid like Disodium EDTA, besides that, I don't see here any comedogenic ingredient or any preservative that people prefer to avoid. Personally, I think it's one of the better formulas that Neogen made.
Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad - how to use it and how does it work?
Pads are thinner than other Neogen Pads but they are also better for sensitive skin. A packaging of 90 pads can last 90 days or even longer depends on how often do you use it. I prefer to use pads 2 or 3 times per week but it also depends on my skin condition. The pads contain quite a lot of essence and once you open them try to keep them straight to avoid any leaking in transport. The scent is delicate and using pads with Cleansing Foam and Oil is really making my entire cleansing routine complete. I wouldn't recommend using the pads on the area near eyes due to PHA but you can easily clean your face with it as well. It's an ideal product for sensitive acne-prone skin and people that try acids for the first time. The effects aren't spectacular but the product really does its job well. I usually go for it during the evening routine. It makes skin soft and fresh. It can help you maintain your skin cycle since dead cells sometimes need more help to make your skin in a good condition. Do the pads make the skin moist? Pads won't make the thing that cream does but they can definitely be a good addition to your skincare routine.
Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica Pad price & where to get it?
The set of 90 pads cost $20 on Sokoglam. It's not a bad price, especially that you can use it every day but you can use it twice a week, more or less - as much as you need it.
Have you ever tried any pads or Neogen product? What do you think about this product?
