A by BOM Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream kbeauty be mused

Every season can be challenging for the skin but I feel like my skin has the biggest problem with summer - acne, dryness, allergic reactions and the feeling of always oily skin makes me feel bad about myself. The first thing I usually go for during the summer is a lightweight moisturizer. Thanks to Bemused Korea I was able to try A by BOM Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream - a hydrating moisturizer based on Deep Sea Water, Azulene and Pentavin. Since it's summer and I spent half of my vacations at the office I added to my routine A by BOM Blue Cica Soothing Mask for better effect. Is this duo an answer to all skin hydration problems?

Summer skincare routine

Summer is a season in which I usually end up finding new innovative products that work well during the heatwave. And since heatwaves in Europe started to be something that we have to get used to, we need to choose wisely in terms of skincare as well. Have you ever been to a drugstore during the summer? There are two different products which you'll see all over the drugstores only during the summer - sunscreen and thermal water. Thermal water is working like a mist which we use to add some moisture to the skin. You might not know this but thermal water if it's not applied the proper way, it can dehydrate your skin instead of adding the moisture. That's why we need to manage our skincare routines and make them work together with the weather changes.

A. By Bom - about the brand

The harmony is important in life but also skincare needs a balance.  A. By Bom is a brand that takes harmony seriously, trying to balance nature and understand human skin is not a piece of cake but somehow A. By Bom did it. I've tried products made by A. By Bom before, the brand is mostly known for the mask selection and very original design. My mom likes A. By Bom Ultra Time Return Eye Cream and honestly, finding a product that can beat this eye cream seems impossible - at least for my mom. I prefer Eye Serum from the same series - it helped me get through many nights during exams and practice. Blue Cica series is a series that made me interested even more in A. By Bom, besides sheet mask and cream, this line contains 4 additional products such as boosting ampoule (which I couldn't find anywhere), bb balm, sunscreen and sun spray. This line seems to be created for the summer!

Moisturizers come in many different forms - heavy or light cream, mousse, gel or delicate lotion. Heavy formula won't always be the best, sometimes lighter formulas can be more hydrating. A. By Bom created oil in a gel texture that looks spectacular but also works excellent. We can call the texture "hybrid texture" and it's not the first time I'm trying texture like this since Jullai Super 12 Bounce Oil Toner has a similar solution - oil capsules in the toner. Jullai solution didn't work in the long run for me - it was ultra-hard to pop the oil capsules while A. By Bom capsules are easy to poke, they melt onto the skin. According to the brand, this moisturizer is developed to face all the problems our skins have to deal with every day such as environmental stressors (pollution, UV exposure, etc), let's have a look at ingredients since they'll tell us a little bit more about A by BOM Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream.

A by BOM Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream and products which you shouldn't mix with it

When I look at the ingredients I usually focus on couple ingredients which will tell me a bit more about the moisturizer like Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract. I've decided to start from this ingredient since Hamamelis is one of the most basic ingredients that we usually forget about. I know Witch Hazel extract as the extract that is recommended for acne-prone skin due to its antibacterial properties but chem lab at cosmetology shown me that Witch Hazel can be treated as a repairing ingredient since it boosts the healing process. Right after Hamamelis, I can see Algae Extract and there's a funny story about A. By Bom cream. There's a problem that Algae is a name for a large group of Algae so it's hard to say which one was used in the formula. We usually use Algae in skincare for moisture.  Thanks to Virulentiss I figured out that you shouldn't mix this moisturizer with Vitamin C powder - at least, not Neogen Real Vita C Power Lemon and probably one of the problem here is... Algae and pH problem since when I added some Vitamin C powder to the moisturizer it turned into a toner.

A by BOM Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream  - main ingredients

According to A. By Bom, the ingredients that should make us interested in Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream is Azulene, Pentavin and Water. Yes, Water! We shouldn't also forget about Centella Asiatica and Spirulina. It is told that Water used in a moisturizer is "deep sea water in Gangwon". The reason why this type of water is used by A. By Bom is the number of minerals found in clean water. Still, I believe Azulene is an ingredient that we should be more interested in. Hidden under the name Guaiazulene, it's a colourant which is usually derived from Chamomile. It is told that Guaiazulene can be anti-inflammatory. Let's clear one thing, Pentavin is hidden here under the name Saccharide Isomerate, an emollient that locks the moisture in the skin. It is told that the effectiveness of this ingredient is so high, you need to use AHA to remove it from the surface of the skin since it can't be washed off. If you're scared then let me tell you one thing - it doesn't have to be bad for the skin.

Tiger grass in product

Centella Asiatica is well-known to everyone, the popularity of Tiger Grass in last 2 years grew a lot and I strongly believe it's all thanks to Dr.Jart +, I might be wrong but that's what I saw. As long as I love Centella, I have to admit that I've got some enemies but it's not a skincare enemy but a dietary enemy. Why, why people use Spirulina? Why do they add it to drinks, yoghurts, etc? Spirulina Platensis Extract is nothing else than Algae, and as long as I can understand eating algae, I can't just stand the blended form of it on my plate. Spirulina in skincare is used as a humectant. I said it once and I'll say it twice - I love Algae masks, but not always Algae works well - some types can not work well on oily skin, hopefully, A. By Bom created a moisturizer that I can't say anything bad about the formula - it doesn't clog my pores, I have less acne than normally. If you have acne problem then Zinc Gluconate in this formula is for you.

Aloe Gel vs A by BOM Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream - which one to pick?

There's a huge number of humectants,  Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Glycerin - the most basic moisturizer which you can find almost in every product,  Sodium Hyaluronate and Beta-Glucan. It's a formula which I can trust, but instead of trusting ingredients - I trusted the texture. I might be a woman that goes to stores, checks the formula, looks at how it works on my hand or skin (if I got a sample) but sometimes she needs to get stuff because they look pretty. Aren't we all sometimes like magpies? The moisturizer is ideal for the summer since it cools down the skin and gives it this feeling of purity. My hair likes to stick to my face after I use this moisturizer but oh boy, during the heatwave there's nothing better than a cold gel formula that makes me feel like I'm living instead of slowly dying due to my low heat tolerance. I can say that texture might look like water but once you take it out of the jar, it reminds me of aloe vera gel.  If I have to pick - this moisturizer or aloe gel, I'll go for A. By Bom since aloe gels sometimes aren't made the right way. The box contains quite a huge and wide spatula but there's nothing bad about it, I'm thankful that it contains spatula at all.

A by BOM Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream - price

A by BOM Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream can be used as a moisturizer used twice a day or a special treatment, I went for the first option and indeed my skin feels better when I use it. I have combo sensitive skin but I feel like all skin types can use it without any problems. The jar contains 100ml of formula and it costs $48.00 but I swear it's worth this price! At least for the summer, it's your own tiny sea.

Make your routine even better with A by BOM Blue Cica Soothing Mask

Sometimes moisturizer is not enough. During the summer what I like to do and what I've been doing at my old workplaces, is to put a sheet mask on my face during the work. If you work at the office you can probably do this too. If not then remember to put some sheet masks to your fridge and 5 minutes before you plan to use them - take them out, clean your skin, add essence and put the mask on. It'll cool down the skin temperature.  I don't feel like I need to tell you a lot about ingredients since you already know a lot about it because  Blue Cica Azulene Dew Soothing Hydration Cream is based on similar ingredients.

A by BOM Blue Cica Soothing Mask Ingredients

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sea Water, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Azulene, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dipropylene Glycol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Arginine, Carbomer, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyacetophenone, Chlorphenesin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance

The magic of  A by BOM Blue Cica Soothing Mask

The ingredients I want you to focus here are Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate and Azulene. In a moisturizer, we could find Azulene but in a bit "different from", still they work quite similar. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is an ingredient which you might like, I'm not a fan of Licorice, the taste of it is one of the worst things I've tried as a kid just right next to Kvass but Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is one of the ingredients people with oily and acne-prone skin should look up to. In a price of $3 for a single sheet mask (or $30 for the box of 10 sheet masks), we get a delicate formula with the ideal amount of essence. Still, I put some thin pads into the bag to get the most of the sheet mask. I might be less enthusiastic about this sheet mask than I am about the moisturizer but it's a mask which I would take with me on a trip and use it especially after the whole day at the beach. Just to mention - the scent is very mild and the fit of the mask is ideal - if your face is small then you it's a mask for you.

A by BOM Blue Cica and where to find it?

Are both of the products worth a try? Yes, I agree that A. By Bom might be not the cheapest brand available but I feel like $48 for a moisturizer that works is worth it.
