The Meekah Skin Care Magazine

Creativity in the beauty industry is not a piece of cake. There are people behind ideas and making them alive. The Meekah's concept of releasing a skincare magazine is brilliant. It's a unique way to introduce a new customer to K-beauty or let people try new products. Today I'll share with you my skincare magazine experience with The Meekah.

The Meekah Skin Care Magazine

What's The Meekah?

The Meekah is a German K-beauty store. The founder Phyu is a Burmese native, and her story is empowering for young girls. I had a conversation with Phyu about how people see women and their careers. She managed to mix two - degree in finance and management and her love and degree in beauty to create the platform to educate and help people understand their skin. The Meekah offers products from brands such as Banila Co, COSRX, Dr.Jart+, Heimish, Klavuu, Neogen, Nacific and many other brands and ships to European countries such as Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. The Meekah is a new store on the market, but I find their concept unique since I've never seen any European K-beauty shop making events - for example, this week if you're in Munich, Meekah has a #YogaSkin Evening (more info on The Meekah's website). They also offer a consultation so if you're not sure which product is suitable for your skin or how to manage your skincare routine, it's a great opportunity.

The Meekah Skin Care Magazine

Skincare magazine

Skincare magazine is The Meekah's exclusive concept. The brand has 3 different options - Morning Magazine, Evening Magazine and Morning & Evening Magazine. I've tested Morning & Evening Magazine and today I want to show you how my routine looked like with The Meekah.

MORNING ROUTINE

COSRX LOW pH GOOD MORNING CLEANSING GEL

STEP 01: WATER CLEANSER - COSRX LOW pH GOOD MORNING CLEANSING GEL

Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Polysorbate 20, Styrax Japonicus Branch/Fruit/Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Saccharomyces Ferment, Cryptomeria Japonica Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Evening Primrose Flower Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Tea Tree Leaf Oil, Allantoin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Betaine Salicylate, Citric Acid, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Benzoate, Disodium EDTA

I admit, I barely ever use cleansing foam as a morning cleanser. I usually go for micellar water, but during the summer cleansing foam works better for me. COSRX Cleanser is popular for its pH - 5,5. It helps maintain the ideal pH of the skin. Tea Tree Leaf Oil gives the scent to the foam, but it's also helpful for the skin due to its antibacterial properties. It's one of my favourite cleansers.

COSRX ONE STEP ORIGINAL CLEAR PAD

STEP 02: TONER - COSRX ONE STEP ORIGINAL CLEAR PAD

Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine Salicylate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Allantoin, Arginine, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Ethyl Hexanediol, Sodium Hydroxide
Toner in a pad version? I'm used to exfoliating pads but it's my second time using cleansing toner pads. The first one I've tried was RE:P pads. COSRX pads seem to be focused on combo and oily skin since I see here many antibacterial and soothing ingredients such as Betaine Salicylate and Allantoin. It's an interesting concept, especially if you travel since you can use the pads as tiny masks for selected parts of your face.

PYUNKANG YUL TONER ESSENCE

STEP 03: ESSENCE - PYUNKANG YUL TONER ESSENCE

Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Arginine

I do not follow trends so then people were all about Pyunkang Yul, I kinda back off. Same with The Ordinary - after everyone tried it I bought my first The Ordinary product. Will I buy my first Pyunkang Yul products soon? I don't know. I can admit Toner Essence is the most interesting product from Pyunkang Yul besides Acne series. Pyunkang Yul is making the product suitable for sensitive skin in the minimalistic spirit - the packaging design is amazing, it's like pharmacy meeting technology. It's a good base for upcoming steps.

INNISFREE GREEN TEA SEED SERUM

STEP 04: SERUM - INNISFREE GREEN TEA SEED SERUM

Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Alcohol, Propanediol, Diethyoxyethyl Succinate, Dipropylene, Glycol, Glycerin, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Orchid Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, DL-Panthenol, Betaine, Trehalose, Niacinamide, PEG/PGG-17/6 Copolymer, BIS-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, C12-16 Alcohols, Potassium Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Phenyl Trimethicone, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Cellulose Gum, Palmitic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Octyldodeceth-16, Dextrin, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

The cult Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum. It was the first Innisfree product I've tried and I'm still going back to it, even if the brand changed the formula, it's still a moisturizing serum based on my favourite antioxidant - Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract. Green tea is good not only in skincare, I like to drink it as well since it makes me relax and help my skin.

PYUNKANG YUL EYE CREAM

STEP 05: EYE CREAM - PYUNKANG YUL EYE CREAM

Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, Petrolatum, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Glycerin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Ceresin, Pentylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Polysorbate 60, Butylene Glycol, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Lactobacillus/ Ginseng Root Ferment Filtrate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Acetyl Glucosamine, Sodium Hyaluronate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate

The idea of Pyunkang Yul's eye cream is still a mystery for me. I kinda don't know how it was made, but it looks impressive. For my skin, this formula is a bit too heavy, it's based on Petrolatum (Vaseline) and Shea Butter which makes it ideal for dry skin.

KLAVUU WHITE PEARLSATION IDEAL ACTRESS BACKSTAGE CREAM #1 ORIGINAL (ROSE)

STEP 06: MOISTURIZER WITH SPF - KLAVUU WHITE PEARLSATION IDEAL ACTRESS BACKSTAGE CREAM #1 ORIGINAL (ROSE)

Water, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Cyclohexasiloxane, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Niacinamide, Octyldodecanol, Pentylene Glycol, Pearl Extract, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Codium Tomentosum Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Enteromorpha Compressa Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract, Gelidium Cartilagineum Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Sea Whip Extract, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Triceteareth-4 Phosphate, Glycol Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, PEG-2 Stearate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Silica, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Triethanolamine, Aluminum Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Squalane, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Fragrance, Mica, Iron Oxides

I'm not a fan of moisturizers with SPF, I believe that moisturizer and SPF are two separate steps but I enjoyed this product the most. This is my favourite if it comes to morning routine - it's delicate, it smells nice and it's an awesome base for make. It doesn't work as a bb cream, but it helps with uneven skin tone.

EVENING ROUTINE

KLAVUU PURE PEARLSATION DIVINE PEARL CLEANSING OIL

STEP 01: CLEANSING OIL - KLAVUU PURE PEARLSATION DIVINE PEARL CLEANSING OIL

Mineral Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Myristate, Undecane, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Pearl Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Codium Tomentosum Extract, Enteromorpha Compressa Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Gelidium Cartilagineum Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Sea Whip Extract, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Polysaccharides, Glycerin, Tridecane, Water, Squalane, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Caprylyl Glycol, Ceramide 3, Phytosphingosine, Fragrance

Klavuu is a new brand for me but this cleansing oil is a must-have! It smells nice, like vanilla or some candies. The oil itself removes the makeup well, it doesn't leave my eyes blurry and it turns into milk after you add some water. I was scared of it because my face is not a fan of Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, but somehow it works as it should and doesn't cause any irritation. This oil is ideal for a facial massage while cleansing.

BENTON HONEST CLEANSING FOAM

STEP 02: WATER CLEANSER - BENTON HONEST CLEANSING FOAM

Water, Potassium Stearate, Glycerin, Potassium Myristate, Potassium Laurate, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sorbitan Olivate, Polyquaternium-10, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Camellia Sinensis Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Propanediol, Hydrolyzed Pea Protein, Phytosterols, Lecithin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Squalane, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Ceramide 3, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract

I had a small problem with this step. Benton's foam has a higher pH than my skin likes. This foam has many fans but I'm not one of them, it makes my skin dry and more prone to acne.

BANILA CO HI BYE VITA-PEEL CLEAR PAD

STEP 03: EXFOLIATION - BANILA CO HI BYE VITA-PEEL CLEAR PAD

Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Urea, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Cellulose Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Thiamine HCl, Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid, Folic Acid, Niacin, Carnitine HCl, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Biotin, Sodium Lactate, Citric Acid, Sodium PCA, Lactic Acid, Malic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit Extract, Pyruvic Acid, Cyanocobalamin, Glyceryl Linoleate, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Glyceryl Arachidonate, Glyceryl Linolenate, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Tartaric Acid

I know Banila Co because this brand makes one of the most popular cleansing balms, but I couldn't believe that Banila Co makes products that can be on the same level as cleansing balms. You might not know about these pads but they don't only look cute, the scent and the way they work are something I might look up to in future.

COSRX ONE STEP ORIGINAL CLEAR PAD

STEP 04: TONER - COSRX ONE STEP ORIGINAL CLEAR PAD

Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine Salicylate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Allantoin, Arginine, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Ethyl Hexanediol, Sodium Hydroxide

Similar to the morning routine - this time toner comes in a pad version, I like to put it for a couple of minutes on different parts of my face for a bit of relaxing during the evening routine.

PYUNKANG YUL TONER ESSENCE

STEP 05: ESSENCE - PYUNKANG YUL TONER ESSENCE

Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butylene Glycol, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Arginine

The essence is also the same step as during the morning routine.

PYUNKANG YUL MOISTURE SERUM

STEP 06: SERUM - PYUNKANG YUL MOISTURE SERUM

Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, 1,2-Hexanediol, Stearic Acid, Polysorbate 60, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Arginine, Dimethicone

I was kinda surprised with Moisture Serum since it's a completely new product for me. I didn't know about its existence before. It's hard to make an opinion after one use, but I might try a full-size version of it one day.

DR. JART+ DERMASK VITAL HYDRA SOLUTION™ DEEP HYDRATION SHEET MASK

STEP 07: SHEET MASK - DR. JART+ DERMASK VITAL HYDRA SOLUTION™ DEEP HYDRATION SHEET MASK

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Panthenol, Betaine, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Algae Extract, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Chlorphenesin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale Root Extract, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Carbomer, Arginine, Citrus Grandis Seed Extract, Acorus Calamus Root Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, PEG-10 Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil

I know this mask very well. I used it before and I have to say Dermask over Rubber Mask. It's a moisturizing mask with a very delicate scent and a good amount of essence. The fit is not ideal - but with my face finding an ideal fit is almost impossible and I do not imagine cutting the mask to fit my face - but I hope that Dr.Jart+ won't discontinue it!

PYUNKANG YUL EYE CREAM

STEP 08: EYE CREAM - PYUNKANG YUL EYE CREAM

Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract, Petrolatum, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Glycerin, Phenyl Trimethicone, Ceresin, Pentylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Polysorbate 60, Butylene Glycol, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Lactobacillus/ Ginseng Root Ferment Filtrate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract, Acetyl glucosamine,Sodium Hyaluronate,PEG-100 Stearate,Glyceryl Stearate

Same eye cream as before, my thoughts are different.

COSRX ADVANCED SNAIL 92 ALL IN ONE CREAM

STEP 09: MOISTURIZER - COSRX ADVANCED SNAIL 92 ALL IN ONE CREAM

Snail Secretion Filtrate, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Arginine, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Panthenol, Allantoin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Xanthan Gum, Ethyl Hexanediol, Adenosine, Phenoxyethanol

I tried many snail products and I can't get used to them. COSRX Snail series has a huge number of fans, am I the one? It's hard to say after one sample, but it is quite an interesting position, especially if you have acne - it might be a product that can help with acne & post-acne scars.

COSRX ULTIMATE MOISTURIZING HONEY OVERNIGHT MASK

STEP 10: OVERNIGHT MASK - COSRX ULTIMATE MOISTURIZING HONEY OVERNIGHT MASK

Propolis Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Arginine, Cassia Obtusifolia Seed Extract, Dimethicone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Beeswax, Allantoin, Panthenol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Adenosine

I had a sample of this mask before and as a propolis fan, I do recommend it. The texture looks like a jelly, it's ideal for every season. COSRX has also a rice mask which I think fits the skin the best during the winter. The honey mask contains Adenosine which is one of my favourite ingredients because it speeds up the healing process.

Overall, both routines were interesting and helped me find new products. From all the products I'm aware that Klavuu is going to end up on my "wishlist/try as soon as possible list". The concept is a great idea, even if 2 products didn't go well with my skin I still enjoyed the experience. Let me know what do you think about such an idea.

Have you ever tried any product from the ones curated by The Meekah? Have you ever heard about The Meekah before?
