Over a year ago, I posted a review of AHC The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face. I guess AHC x Marymond collaboration was the reason why so many people got interested in this eye cream. This year I've been testing Season 7 of cult AHC eye cream - AHC Ageless Real Eye Cream for Face. Last time, I said that the brand sold over 50 million eye creams, lots of things have changed since then. AHC sold over 71 million of eye creams since the release date. AHC eye creams are considered to be the most sold K-beauty eye cream, and I can completely believe that. How different is the Ageless version?
About AHC
The name AHC means Aesthetic Hydration Cosmetics. According to AHC's website, the company started in 1999. The name of the brand is not random AHC makes skincare products similar to products used by aesthetics. It means that AHC makes professional products for personal use, it's nothing new since many aesthetic brands used at SPA have lines for personal use. If I have to compare eye creams I use at home vs eye creams I use during my internship as an esthetician - AHC is way better than pro eye creams. Eye Cream For Face is AHC's the most popular product. One of the AHC ambassadors is Anne Hathaway. Lately, I saw actresses Kim Hye Soo and Jo Bo Ah in AHC commercials. Currently, actress Oh Yeon-seo is a brand ambassador. The brand has stores called "AHC Playzone" where you can get treatment and buy products.
What does the name "Real Eye Cream For Face" mean?
The skin near the eye area is more sensitive than the skin on your face. It's thinner, more sensitive to the damage and it needs special care. What's the theory behind the name of the AHC eye cream? AHC made a formula-based on active ingredients that are suitable for both - eyes and the entire face. It's not an unusual thing since lately, Swanicoco released Peptide eye cream with a similar purpose (the review of Swanicoco is going to be published next month). I like to apply my eye cream on areas where you can expect to see wrinkles earlier like near mouth area. Right now we have 7 different eye creams. Ageless Eye Cream For Face is an anti-aging eye cream with biomimic collagen. Ultimate Real Eye Cream For Face is a brightening and anti-wrinkle eye cream based on peptides. The Pure Real Eye Cream For Face is a version for sensitive skin. Real Eye Cream For Face that contains EGF, a peptide which I enjoy a lot in eye creams. Premium Real Eye Cream For Face is a brightening cream, and another version is Private Real Eye Cream For Face. This one helps with skin elasticity. Last, but not least is THE Real Eye Cream For Face - an ultra moisturizer. The US customers can buy Essential Real Eye Cream For Face which is a multi-tool moisturizer.
Luxurious ingredients?
AHC eye creams are not considered to be cheap, but lots of stores sell them at affordable prices. Is there any luxury in a product? Yes! Let's see what's inside the formula

If you get scared easily by the number of ingredients then you might feel overwhelmed with all the substances in every AHC's product. The base of the product is Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract. This extract is told to be a source of Vitamin E and minerals with antioxidant properties. The brand decided to follow the fermentation trend. We can spot here 5 different fermented ingredients. Bifida Ferment Lysate is a probiotic so it makes your skin stronger just like Lactobacillus Ferment Filtrate and Lactobacillus Ferment.
The moisturizer is full in emollients like Hydrogenated Polydecene which is an ideal ingredient for sensitive skin. Cyclohexasiloxane is also an emollient and a silicone. Last time I made a review of AHC Eye Cream some people complained why luxurious skincare has silicones and how natural skincare is better. I like natural ingredients, but I'm okay with silicones because they are occlusives and without occlusives, your skin gets dehydrated quickly. There are lots of myths related to silicones, but silicones are great for sensitive skin with allergies, they are safe to use since all substances used in skincare have strict regulations. Some people might have reactions to silicones and that's normal since every skin is different. If you don't want to use silicones - you have a right not to use them and I won't force you to use them, but I would love if you can respect that other people might have different choices. Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil is also an emollient and a source of Vitamin E and Vitamin A. It makes your skin soft and smooth, it's an ideal oil for facial massage, but it can be used under the makeup. Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter is one of my favourite ingredients since it's very universal. I used to buy shea butter every year as a gift for my family and friends. It's also a source of vitamin E and a great moisturizer, but oily skin might have problems with it. Cetyl Alcohol is a good guy, it's good alcohol and an emulsifier. I'm not a fan of Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil since oily skin is not a fan of it, but it's an emollient which dry skin loves.
We can talk the entire day about ingredients used by AHC, but let's focus on the most interesting ones. Glycerin is one of the best moisturizers for the skin. Niacinamide is an ingredient which we want to see in our skincare since it's an all-in-one substance. Do you have problems with pigmentation? Try Niacinamide. Problems with wrinkles? Go for Niacinamide. Problems with acne? Niacinamide might help with it too. Needs a hotel? Then check Trivago since Niacinamide is not powerful enough to find you a hotel. Sensitive skin might be careful with Niacinamide + Vit C mixture, but I used this cream with Vitamin C serum and there was no problem. Soluble Collagen is an ingredient that we can consider the main star since AHC promotes Ageless Eye Cream For Face as a cream with biomimic collagen. This ingredient is not vegetarian and vegan-friendly. Collagen molecules are too big to get through the surface of the skin, Soluble Collagen isn't better. It won't get through layers of the skin, but it makes a great moisturizing film on the surface of the skin. Sodium Hyaluronate is another moisturizer which we want to see in every formula. Panthenol is also known as Provitamin B5, it's a soothing moisturizer which back in the days was popular to use after sunburns. Ceramide is an ingredient that naturally occurs in the lipid barrier, it makes your skin stronger and less prone to irritation. Cholesterol has a very similar role to Ceramide, it's one of the ingredients found in the lipid barrier. Adenosine speeds up the healing process. Beta-Glucan is a great moisturizer for sensitive skin. Hydrolyzed Collagen is a smaller version of Collagen, but don't expect too, it's still a good moisturizer. Rutin is an antioxidant great visible blood vessel and antioxidants. Squalane is an emollient, very similar to sebum which has many benefits for your skin. There's also Vitamin C in an SAP form and Hyaluronic Acid.
What about extracts? There's a huge number of them. Dioscorea Japonica Root Extract is also known as Japanese Mountain Yam, this extract is told to be moisturizing and brightening antioxidant with a positive effect on wrinkles. Phellodendron Amurense Bark Extract is an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial substance that speeds up the healing process. Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract is great for sensitive and acne-prone skin. You can also find there peptides like Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 or Acetyl Hexapeptide-8. I feel like this version of Eye Cream For Face has more peptides than any other version.
AHC Ageless Real Eye Cream For Face - how does it work?
Is the difference visible? Honestly, for me, The Pure Eye Cream For Face was as good as Ageless Real Eye Cream For Face. It's quite lightweight and it didn't cause any milia on my eyes, but I'm aware that for some people this eye cream is too light. I see the difference since it helps with my dark circles and next to Squalane. I won't see a huge difference since I'm in my 20's, but in comparison to eye creams from different brands like Swanicoco, The Ordinary or Innisfree - I do not feel like I'll go back to AHC as soon as possible since this cream is worth its price. It doesn't cause any allergic reactions, it brightens the eye area, it's a great moisturizer with soothing properties. Even if it has a huge number of ingredients - still it works better for me than eye creams based only on a few ingredients. The scent is creamy and delicate. The application of the cream is easy thanks to the tube form. AHC Ageless Real Eye Cream For Face costs $11.99 on Akoco for 30ml which is a good price. The same cream costs about $6 on Stylekorean and Sweetcorea and $7 on Testerkorea.
