Do you use essences? If not then you should give them a try! By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence is an answer to problems such as irritation and dehydration - something that we all currently need. The main secret of the formula is fermentation, Quad Active Boosting Essence is made out of fermented ingredients in 46% to create a product that fits all skin types - including sensitive skin.
What's an essence
I've read thousands of essence definitions, but the one I feel is the most accurate is describing essence as a lightweight but a well-concentrated liquid solution. Essences are preparing the skin for upcoming steps in the routine, but they also add hydration. They are somewhere between toner and serum. Previously toner was used to balance pH of the skin after the cleansing, but nowadays it's not necessary since we've got cleansers with pH = 5,5. Some people use only essences, but I can't imagine giving up on toner.
About By Wishtrend
By Wishtrend is a brand which I know well, I posted before reviews of Green Tea And Enzyme Wash Powder, Mandelic Acid - which is the only AHA in liquid form that my skin likes and doesn't make any problems (glycolic acid in any concentration = purging), By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule - which is the best By Wishtrend product so far. Do you know that Klairs and By Wishtrend are sister brands? They are made by the same company - Wishcompany. By Wishtrend is a cosmeceutical brand, the formulas are the answer to the problems of the community - if you check Wishtrend page, Instagram or WishtrendTV on Youtube, the company get lots of feedback from clients. It shouldn't surprise that By Wishtrend formulas are an answer to these feedbacks. Formulas are free from artificial scents and colourants, the brand doesn't test on animals and some formulas are vegan-friendly.
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence - Packaging
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence comes in gold packaging - it's the same colour as By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule - get used to this name, you'll see it a lot in this review. The bottle looks ultra-fancy with gold details and honey-colour formula. When you open the cap you will see a small plastic funnel that helps with getting enough product for one application. Isn't that wonderful?
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence - Texture & Scent
There's a difference between toners, essences, ampoules and serums. The essence is something between toner and serum - it's watery but thicker than toner, on the other side - it's not as thick as serum. The shade of the formula is golden. It's not sticky, it feels like water and it has almost no scent - because of the allergy I can't feel scents well, but it might smell a bit like flowers.
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence - Ingredients
Aqua(Water), Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract(10%), Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water(9%), Schisandra Chinensis Fruit Extract(9%), Morus Alba Bark Extract(8.7%), Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract(8.7%), Methylpropanediol, Glycerin, Saccharomyces/Honey Ferment Filtrate, Saccharomyces/Xylinum/Black Tea Ferment, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propolis Extract(1%), Butylene Glycol, Benzyl Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin
Aqua or Water is an ingredient which you can find in almost every product, it's purpose in products is easy - it's a solvent. Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract (10%) is an anti-inflammatory relative of Salicylic Acid aka BHA. White willow is a source of salicin, catechins and tannins. Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water (9%) might say nothing, but another name of this substance is Cornflower Flower Water. It's a popular plant in Europe, it has a blue colour and you can find it as an additional ingredient in tea blends. It's a source of anthocyanin. It's another soothing plant in this formula. Schisandra Chinensis Fruit Extract (9%) is one of my favourite plants, it's nothing else than magnolia - sometimes they call it Magnolia Vine. It's a source of polyphenols and flavonoids. It's an antioxidant with soothing properties. Morus Alba Bark Extract (8.7%) is an antioxidant with soothing properties. I know White Mulberry as a food - but not in a bark form, White Mulberry died fruits are quite popular and I know that people love them. Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract (8.7%) also known as Sacred Lotus is a strong moisturizer but also an ingredient with anti-bacterial properties. It's soothing but it also speeds up the healing process.
Glycerin is one of the most popular humectants in skincare. There's a large number of myths around glycerin like it can clog your skin. It doesn't clog your pores, but too much glycerin can make a sticky layer on the skin and even make your skin dryer than before due to TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Still, it's an ingredient which we want to see in formulas. The formula is fermented in 46%, it shouldn't surprise us to see Saccharomyces/Honey Ferment Filtrate and Saccharomyces/Xylinum/Black Tea Ferment. Black Tea Ferment sounds to me like a Kombucha. The fermentation process has a positive meaning to our skin and health, we use fermentation for ages while making wine, kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir, kvass, skyr or soy sauce. In skincare, this process helps to break bigger molecules down into smaller ones. Our skin can't allow larger particles to get through the outer layer of the skin. 1,2-Hexanediol is a solvent, just like Methylpropanediol, which is an ingredient with antimicrobial properties. Another solvent here is Benzyl Glycol, but don't mistake this one with Benzyl Alcohol - they are different.
I guess two years ago Propolis Extract (1%) was super popular in skincare. People use Propolis for thousands of years, it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. In my case, Propolis helps me with acne, but Propolis ampoules are good if you want to get the honey skin look. If you're allergic to bees then I recommend you to avoid this ingredient but if bees are not a problem for you - it's an ingredient which can change your skincare game. Butylene Glycol is a moisturizer and solvent, but it's also alcohol. You see, not every alcohol in skincare is bad. Some of them have positive effects on your skin - just like Butylene Glycol which is a popular substance even in eco/green cosmetic products. By Wishtrend tries to make their formulas without harmful ingredients, it's not a surprise that they went for Butylene Glycol, but is there any brand that doesn't use this ingredient? Hydroxyethylcellulose is a thickener and Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative.
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence - my experience
I'm a bit scared that my expectations were too high. Last year I tested By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule and it blew my mind. When the product came to me I started to lower my expectations and treat it as a different product. I still have to think about the entire line, but not everyone is going to put Ampoule and Essence in the same routine. The packaging of By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence could be put next to high-end brand products and you won't notice that there's a difference in prices - it fits the high-end brand/luxury there. But it's not only about the packaging - the formula itself is also surprising. it's a lightweight solution for all skin types, but not for all skin concerns - each skin needs some moisture, but if you're allergic to propolis, bees or any other ingredient found in the product - patch test first or don't use it at all in this case, even if the product is tempting - safety comes first. This serum came to me in the ideal moment when my skin is acting out, I am supposed to stay at home and since my job is a remote position normally I go to the cafe or some places to work and meet with people - this time I'm staying at home 24/7 which makes my skin dehydrated. To keep the moisture right now I need to use mists or apply my skincare at least 3-5 times per day. I did a test, I used By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence for few days and then took a small break - can you guess the results? When I use By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence my skin is not that dry.
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence & By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule
While testing new By Wishtrend essence I wasn't able to add one of the best ampoules for my skin - By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule. Both products have lots in common like that "honey" golden look. Using both products together should be the best option that's why I want to give you a quick review of By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule, but you can read a full review of By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule on Kherblog.
Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Propolis Extract, Glycerin, Propanediol, Isopentyldiol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Panthenol, Perilla Frutescens Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Zinc PCA, Pantolactone
By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule formula is different from By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence. There are some similar ingredients like Glycerin, Propolis Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA and Butylene Glycol. For me, By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule is one of the best Propolis product I've ever tried, right now I would even say I prefer it more than Dr.Ceuracle formula (which is nothing else than Leegeehaam rebranding and sadly rebranding = a change in formula and I see that new formula is less effective than an old one that's why By Wishtrend is currently my number one if it comes to propolis ampoules & serums). But the main ingredient in the ampoule is Houttuynia Cordata. This ingredient was expected to get popular right after Centella popularity drops, but instead, companies decided to focus on Mugwort. Houttuynia Cordata is known under many different names like Chinese Lizard Tail, Heart Leaf or Rainbow Plant. It's a plant used in Traditional Japanese Medicine. I know it mostly because some people use it to treat Borreliosis - obviously if you have Borreliosis or you think you might have this disease then please contact the doctor first before you use herbs. The reason why Houttuynia Cordata is used not only in skincare but also medicine is because of its antibacterial properties. It's an antioxidant that speeds up the healing process. The formula uses fermentation process too - Lactobacillus Ferment. By Wishtrend Polyphenol In Propolis 15% Ampoule was bit sticky still I didn't notice that just like with By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence. I guess using both together might give you a better effect - not only in terms of moisture but in terms of acne too.
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence - price and where to buy it?
By Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence costs $23 for 100 ml, it's a cruelty-free essence with pH around 5.2. You can also get By Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule for $32, both should work great together. Both products are available at Wishtrend. You can get 10% off on your wishtrend shopping with code APR10.
To sum up, By Wishtrend did its job well and I'm not disappointed! I'm still planning to try it with ampoule to see if I can get better results while using both products.
Let me know what's your favourite essence and what's your favourite By Wishtrend product?
