Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum

Antioxidants are an important part of our skincare and lifestyle, they help fix and protect our skin from environmental factors and damage made by free radicals. Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum is a product full of antioxidants straight from Taiwan, and the concept behind this brand will blow your mind!

About Greenvines

Greenvines is a Taiwanese brand with a pure green idea behind it. I have to admit that the reason why I agreed to collaborate with Greenvines was the sustainability behind all Greenvines products. The inspiration for Greenvines products is Dr. Lin Pishia, she believes that products should be more transparent and clients should get more information on what they are using. You won't find in Greenvines products many chemical substances, the majority of ingredients are organic, and formulas themselves are powerful, but they stay on the natural side. The brand has 20 years of experience in research. Greenvines has 7 products in total and Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum is one of them - if you check the Taiwanese website, you can find Greenvines also sells tinted SPF and lip oil). According to Greenvines, all products are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly, except Know More Scalp Clarifying Shampoo - this shampoo contains Propolis Extract. The brand admits that none of the bees was harmed in process of collecting the ingredient. Greenvines has a B Corporation certificate.

Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum - Packaging

The uniqueness of Greenvines is visible even in the packaging. I've never seen such an intriguing and original idea to pack the product. The box reminds me a bit of an egg tray - we had similar packaging used for egg trays in Poland. You can feel the texture of this packaging, it even has an embossed Greenvines logo. It is an eco-friendly box. The plastic cap is 100% recyclable, but Greenvines advises removing the pump and "decompose" it to make sure the metal part won't get into a plastic waste container, but to the right container. The bottle is made out of glass, also 100% recyclable.

Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum - Texture & Scent

Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum is like a new experience. I'm a fan of green tea and somehow this serum reminds me of it even if there's no green tea in the formula. The serum is lightweight and what I adore about it is the non-sticky formula. My skin is like a sponge, once I apply this product it quickly drinks the product from the surface of my skin. The scent has a delicate, natural scent of rose flower water. It's a lovely composition, even for people sensitive to scents.

Water (Aqua) is an ingredient that you can find in almost every product. Its purpose in products is easy - it's a solvent. Rosa Damascena Flower Water is a hydrosol derived from a hybrid rose - it's a combination of rosa gallica, Rosa moschata and probably rosa fedtschenkoan. It has calming properties. Rosa Damascena Flower Water can be used for sensitive skin. Pentylene Glycol is a humectant with antimicrobial properties. Glycerin is one of the most popular humectants in skincare. There's a large number of myths around glycerin like it can clog your skin. It doesn't clog your pores, but too much glycerin can make a sticky layer on the epidermis and even make your skin dryer than before due to TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Still, it's an ingredient that we want to see in formulas. Sodium Hyaluronate is a salt form of a popular Natural Moisturizing Factor - Hyaluronic Acid. Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Sprout Extract is supposed to be an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. Broccoli is a source of vitamins K and C. Propanediol is a solvent with moisturizing properties. Similar to Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol is an ingredient that some people try to avoid. You're most likely to see Propanediol instead of Propylene Glycol in an organic skincare product, and the reason for this change is simple. Ecocert recommends it.

Olea Europaea is an olive tree, the literal name means European Olive, and the name fits it well since it's a plant which you can find in the Mediterranean region of Europe, but there are other places where Olive can be found. The main compound of Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract is oleuropein. This extract is supposed to calm the skin and protect it from outside factors. Codium Tomentosum Extract is an algae extract. This type of algae is called velvet horn, it's a source of many amino acids like glycine. It's a good moisturizer. Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Flower/Leaf Extract is used in products for acne-prone skin. Buddleja Davidii Extract or Butterfly Blush extract has antioxidant properties. Anthemis Nobilis Flower Water is chamomile water. Anthemis Nobilis or Roman Chamomile is a plant with broad possibilities of use - from aromatherapy to skin treatments. During my education at med school, I had to be careful with Chamomile, because even if this plant has soothing properties, some people are sensitive to it. Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid is a low weight humectant. It's a form of natural moisturizing factor that occurs in our skin - Hyaluronic Acid. The smaller the molecule is, the better it works. Citric Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) - a chemical exfoliant. It's derived from fruits like lemon. It's a weak acid and usually weaker AHA acids act like moisturizers. In this case, Citric Acid helps with the pH level of the formula. Sodium Levulinate is a natural preservative. Butylene Glycol is a moisturizer and solvent, but it's also alcohol. You see, not every alcohol in skincare is terrible. Some of them have positive effects on your skin - just like Butylene Glycol, which is a popular substance even in eco/green cosmetic products. Sodium Anisate is a natural preservative. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder is a source of many amino acids, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals. It's a good soothing ingredient for sensitive skin.

How does Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum work?

Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum is a beautiful skincare story with only natural ingredients. Some people will enjoy the green side of the brand, I'm not a person who hates chemistry in skincare, but I do not force anyone to use only green products - we all have our minds, free will and free choice. Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum do not use many ingredients, but they do not scare people from using products from other brands - something that I barely ever see, but still, there are some brands that instead of honest competition prefer to use shaming as marketing. Greenvines is a green brand with values, they do not have to go into such marketing, because if you check Greenvines website or Taiwanese Facebook account, you will see how lovely and complete the brand is Greenvines. The nature and green colour are all around this brand. I haven't tried many Taiwanese brands, I'm pretty sure Greenvines is a second brand, but I find there something similar with Polish brands - focus on natural ingredients. Know More Luminosity Serum came to me in beautiful, unique packaging. Inside the box I found a glass packaging with a plastic pump - this pump is easy to remove, and that's pretty rare. The formula itself is lightweight, it kinda reminds me of Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum even if the ingredients in both products are very different. The application process of this product is like a tiny ritual before a long day or after a long day. I post a lot lately, but in the last two months I spent the majority of time writing papers to work, and for me, skincare became a moment for myself - a tiny celebration during the day. During such hard days at work, antioxidants are what my skin needs. My skin does feel brighter when I use Know More Luminosity Serum, especially when the product itself doesn't make my skin produce more oil, but moderates sebum production. I feel like oily-prone skin might enjoy this formula a lot. I couldn't leave my moisturizer so I still applied it after using the serum, even if the Greenvines prefer to lock the moisture with oil than lotion or moisturizer. I'm not joking, Greenvines has no standard moisturizer in an offer. My skin absorbs this serum quickly, but I found out that my sunscreen doesn't work with this serum - it makes my sunscreen pilling, that's why Greenvines serum became the one I use during the evening. Know More Luminosity Serum hydrates and brightens the skin while protecting it from free radicals. This product is great support for my skincare.

Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum

If you check the Taiwanese website, Greenvines Know More Luminosity Serum is one of the top 5 Greenvines best selling products. According to the brand, Greenvines products can be used during pregnancy, even kids can use products created by the brand, but the brand advises to contact the doctor first since some people might be allergic to the ingredients found in the product. I got some issues with Aloe and I'm glad I could use Know More Luminosity Serum - it means that Aloe Juice Powder was well-prepared and the quality of the ingredient is right. I had situations with aloe gels before that's why I'm careful with Aloe in cosmetics. What I want to mention is the great aesthetic of the brand, but also content produced by the brand like blog posts about reducing carbon footprint. Overall, the product and all the marketing around it made me sure that I have to try more Taiwanese brands, and I'm sure we will hear about Greenvines more often.
