Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream

Acne is a problem for many people, but there are some products that have a "cult" badge. Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle series is one of these series which you can find all over the internet. Why this series became so popular? The entire magic lays in ingredients used by Some By Mi and the skin turn-over process. Today I'm testing Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream.

About Some By Mi

Some By Mi is a brand that became successful overnight... Or at least that's how it feels. The name Some By Mi is a combination of "something" and "by a miracle". Some By Mi wanted to create a miracle for the skin that isn't temporary, that's why the team of skin professionals created ideal formulas for your skin with the use of natural ingredients since mother nature gave us many amazing ingredients. Some By Mi avoids so-called "worrisome ingredient". AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle is probably the most known series by Some By Mi, even if this brand has even more to offer!

This product comes in a paper box with lots of important information about this product. The original product will have stickers to prove its originality. The bottle has a typical green-blue bottle that reminds me of calming ingredients. It has a typical toner with a cap - it was hard to open the cap for the first time.

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner - Scent & Texture

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner - Scent & Texture

It's a liquid that smells like pure tea tree oil.

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner - Ingredients

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fructan, Allantoin, Adenosine, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Xylitol, Salicylic Acid(100 ppm), Lactobionic Acid(100 ppm), Citric Acid(500 ppm), Sodium Citrate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Benzyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Raspberry Ketone, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil

Water is an ingredient that you can find in almost every product. Its purpose in products is easy - it's a solvent. Butylene Glycol is a moisturizer and solvent, but it's also alcohol. You see, not every alcohol in skincare is terrible. Some of them have positive effects on your skin - just like Butylene Glycol, which is a popular substance even in eco/green cosmetic products. Dipropylene Glycol is a solvent. Glycerin is one of the most popular humectants in skincare. There's a large number of myths around glycerin like it can clog your skin. It doesn't clog your pores, but too much glycerin can make a sticky layer on the epidermis and even make your skin dryer than before due to TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Still, it's an ingredient that we want to see in formulas. Niacinamide is a miracle ingredient. It does lots of great work. Do you have problems with dark spots? Try Niacinamide! Acne? Niacinamide will be an ideal pick for you too! Maybe you've got issues with the skin barrier? Solve it with Niacinamide! Wrinkles? You might want to try Niacinamide as well. Sensitive skin might find Niacinamide a bit problematic when it's mixed with Vitamin C or used in the same routine as Vitamin C. I can't deny Niacinamide is a skincare treasure! Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water is a hydrosol of a popular essential oil. You probably know Tea Tree as an essential oil ingredient. EO's are controversial because they are not as safe as people think. Essential oils are similar to Alcohol, some are positive and some are negative because they can cause allergic reactions and be phototoxic or photosensitive. Tea Tree Oil is a good guy, it's super helpful in curing acne. It shouldn't be used straight on your skin, it needs to be diluted. It has antibacterial and antiseptic properties just like an extract from. In hydrosol form, this ingredient works as an astringent. Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate is an emulsifier. Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract has some antibacterial properties. Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract is a source of trisaccharides. Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract or witch hazel extract, this ingredient is popular for acne-prone skin since it's a soothing astringent. It has antibacterial properties and if you have some issues with blood vessels, witch hazel makes them stronger. Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract has calming properties. Sodium Hyaluronate is a salt form of a popular Natural Moisturizing Factor - Hyaluronic Acid. Fructan is a patented complex with moisturizing properties. It might also be anti-inflammatory. Allantoin is a powerful ingredient in skincare, and I think we have all know it since the early days. My family didn't imagine my childhood without this cream. Allantoin derives from comfrey, and it has soothing properties, but it also speeds up the healing process, which makes it ideal for acne-prone skin and sensitive skin.

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream

Adenosine is another elegant ingredient. It speeds up the healing process and repairs the skin barrier. It's ideal for inflamed skin, and it might have a positive effect on skin elasticity. Hydroxyethyl Urea is a different version of Urea, but it has moisturizing properties. Xylitol is a sugar, and sugar in skincare has moisturizing properties. Salicylic Acid (100 ppm) is known as BHA, an exfoliant that helps with pore care. A small amount of Salicylic Acid cleans the pores which translate to fewer acne problems. It is recommended for acne-prone skin and young teenage skin due to these properties. Don't expect that it'll change your skin like Glycolic Acid (the most effective AHA), Salicylic Acid is mild, but its power is focused on pores. Lactobionic Acid (100 ppm) is a PHA acid, it's a gentle exfoliant for sensitive skin. It shouldn't irritate your skin and besides removing dead skin cells, this ingredient can help with moisture of the skin. Citric Acid (500 ppm) is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) - a chemical exfoliant. It's derived from fruits like lemon. It's a weak acid and usually weaker AHA acids act like moisturizers. In this case, Citric Acid helps with the pH level of the formula. Sodium Citrate regulates pH, we call substances like this a buffer. It feels like 1,2-Hexanediol is everywhere, and it's not a surprise. Even if it's a solvent, it's also a moisturizer. Benzyl Glycol is a solvent. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative. It keeps products fresh. Raspberry Ketone is a scent ingredient. Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil is an essential oil, it has cooling and perfuming properties.

How does Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner work?

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner reminds me a bit of an Axis-y toner, but it's more focused on active ingredients - since we spot in the formula AHA, BHA, PHA - and acne. Actually, this toner is full of tea tree oil which for acne-prone skin is great news. Even if we are not supposed to use tea tree oil straight on the skin, in a formula like this - you don't have to dilute essential oil on yourself (although this formula is based on tea tree hydrosol). It's a delicate exfoliant, it won't peel off the skin but gently remove dead skin cells, at the same time the number of active ingredients is ideal to add moisture to your skin. If you read my previous post about Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Acne Clear Body Cleanser and Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA Calming Body Lotion then this toner can be used after cleanser and before body lotion. It's hard for me to give one opinion on Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner since at the same time I'm on AHA treatment, but if you're a teen this might be a great introduction to acne-prone skin care. It's better to start using delicate solutions like this toner than use toothpaste or another folk/internet remedies.

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream - Packaging

This product comes in a paper box with lots of important information about this product. The original product will have stickers to prove its originality. Instead of a bottle, we got here a green-blue jar and yes, it reminds me of calming ingredients as entire series.

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream - Scent & Texture

The formula of this moisturizer is so lightweight and oil-free. It instantly soaks into the skin like water into the sponge. It has a kinda greenish shade and it smells like... toothpaste.

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream

Centella Asiatica Extract(70.78 %), Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Water, Niacinamide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water(10,000 ppm), Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Origanum Vulgare Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract, Fructan, Albatrellus Confluens (Mushroom) Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Enantia Chlorantha Bark Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Coptis Japonica Extract, Saccharide Isomerate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Betaine, Allantoin, Madecassoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Adenosine, Ceramide NP, Oleanolic Acid, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid(100 ppm), Inulin Lauryl Carbamate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Sorbitan Olivate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lactobionic Acid(100 ppm), Citric Acid(11 ppm), Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Benzyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Raspberry Ketone, Disodium EDTA, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Limonene

Centella Asiatica Extract (70.78 %) is an ingredient that stays in the skincare trend. Lots of ingredients used in skincare have a long history of use in medicine. This ingredient isn't different because Centella is a part of Ayurveda, a traditional (or if you prefer - alternative) medicine used by people for ages. Nowadays we associate it with India. Centella is a herb primarily applied in skincare for its healing properties. It speeds up the healing process, and that's why acne-prone skin loves it. If you're pregnant or you plan pregnancy, then try to find body care products with Centella Asiatica because it can have a valuable meaning on skin elasticity as well as stretch marks. Water is an ingredient that you can find in almost every product. Its purpose in products is easy - it's a solvent. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is an emollient. It's a combination of coconut oil and glycerin that makes mild, gentle and delicate emollients. It thickens the formula, but it also makes skin feel smooth in touch. Cetyl Ethylhexanoate is an oily emollient ester. It's a synthetic substance used in skincare and haircare products to protect both hair and skin from water loss and soften the skin. Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water (10,000 ppm) is a hydrosol of a popular essential oil. Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil or castor oil is an emollient. Hydrogenated Castor Oil is an emollient and humectant in solid form. You probably know Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract and Flower Extract as Neem. It's a plant typical for India, Sri Lanka or Pakistan. Neem comes from Ayurveda, and it's told to have antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract or Ivy Gourd is a natural pigment. Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient. Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract is a classic moisturizer with soothing properties. Ocimum Sanctum Leaf Extract aka Holy Basil is a source of eugenol, linalool, rosmarinic acid, oleanolic acid, ursolic acid, rosmarinic acid and more. It's another ingredient used in traditional medicine. In skincare products, Holy Basil has anti-inflammatory effects. Turmeric in products for acne skin is not a surprise for me, but what does Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract do in other products? Turmeric has wide use in traditional medicine - not only Ayurveda but Chinese Traditional Medicine. It's an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, that's why it works so good on acne. It might help with pigmentation, but if you have post-acne inflammation, then using soothing ingredients and substances that speed up wound healing helps with the redness left after acne. Algae in beauty exist in many different forms. Corallina Officinalis Extract is an antioxidant and colourant. Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract or Marigold Extract is a plant, which in Europe we use as a herbal medicine herb. It's antioxidant and astringent with anti-inflammatory properties. Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract is an antioxidant with enormous popularity and use. You can use it as a moisturizer for both dry and oily skin or as an acne treatment due to its antibacterial properties. Maybe you fight with wrinkles, and you need support? It's an antioxidant, and it can repair your skin after the damage made by UV light (since UVA is helping your skin in aging) and free radicals. Even sensitive skin is a fan of this soothing humectant. Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract is an astringent ingredient derived from Rosemary. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties, it can be soothing but if you're allergic to rosemary or had bad reactions to essential oils, this ingredient can be irritating. Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract gives a scent to this composition. Fructan is a patented complex with moisturizing properties. It might also be anti-inflammatory. Albatrellus Confluens (Mushroom) Extract is a humectant. Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract is an anti-inflammatory relative of Salicylic Acid aka BHA. White willow is a source of salicin, catechins and tannins. Houttuynia Cordata Extract is an ingredient that some people with acne-prone skin loves while for me, my experience was not bad but still all hail Centella! Houttuynia Cordata is a plant, which we still use in Traditional Chinese and Japanese Medicine, it's also known as Heart Leaf or Chinese lizard tail. Funny fact about Houttuynia - it's also called Fish Wort, Fish Leaf, etc. because it's an edible plant and it usually leaves the fishy aftertaste. I eat fish a lot, but I'm not a fan of the fishy taste of low-quality matcha (yep, I'm a tea & fish snob) so I don't think I would enjoy it, I'll stay with enjoying Houttuynia magic in skincare. Houttuynia is an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Coptis Japonica Extract has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Saccharide Isomerate is a natural humectant. Sodium Hyaluronate is a salt form of a popular Natural Moisturizing Factor - Hyaluronic Acid. Butylene Glycol is a moisturizer and solvent, but it's also alcohol. You see, not every alcohol in skincare is terrible. Some of them have positive effects on your skin - just like Butylene Glycol, which is a popular substance even in eco/green cosmetic products. Propanediol is a solvent with moisturizing properties. Similar to Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol is an ingredient that some people try to avoid. You're most likely to see Propanediol instead of Propylene Glycol in an organic skincare product, and the reason for this change is simple. Ecocert recommends it. Betaine derives from sugar beets. It's an amino acid that keeps your skin moist, and you might want to use it in your haircare routine. Madecassoside is an active compound of K-beauty famous Centella Asiatica. It is not a surprise why Madecassoside, as well as Gotu Kola, are so common in skincare - they have wound healing properties. It boosts the healing process which makes them ideal for acne-prone, sensitive or inflamed skin. Madecassoside is an antioxidant that you have to try! Madecassic Acid is an active compound of Centella Asiatica - a famous K-beauty ingredient. Even if Madecassic Acid is not as popular as Madecassoside, it's still a great healing ingredient. Asiaticoside has its roots in Centella Asiatica, it's one of the triterpenoid saponins. It supports wound healing. Asiatic Acid is an active compound of Centella Asiatica, and it also has powerful healing properties. Adenosine is another elegant ingredient. It speeds up the healing process and repairs the skin barrier. It's ideal for inflamed skin, and it might have a positive effect on skin elasticity. Ceramide NP or Ceramide 3 is an ingredient that we want to see in our products. Ceramides naturally occur in human skin, and they have a dominant role. You can find them in the lipid barrier of the skin along with cholesterol and fatty acids. Ceramide is like a cement of the skin. It makes sure that your skin won't get dehydrated. Capryloyl Salicylic Acid (100 ppm) or LHA is an ingredient that I met a few years ago, and which I lately see a lot on social media. LHA is a salicylic acid but on steroids - not literally, by steroids, I mean fatty chain added to SA. It's a lipophilic structure, it is a gentle exfoliant, but due to its weight it doesn't penetrate your skin deep. Still, LHA is recommended for sensitive and acne-prone skin. Inulin Lauryl Carbamate is an emulsifier. Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Cetearyl Glucoside and Sorbitan Olivate are emulsifiers. Cetearyl Alcohol even if it sounds a bit scary, it's good alcohol. It's oil-soluble fatty alcohol. It's a superb emollient and emulsifier. Lactobionic Acid (100 ppm) is a PHA acid, it's a gentle exfoliant for sensitive skin. It shouldn't irritate your skin and besides removing dead skin cells, this ingredient can help with moisture of the skin. Citric Acid (11 ppm) is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) - a chemical exfoliant. It's derived from fruits like lemon. It's a weak acid and usually weaker AHA acids act like moisturizers. In this case, Citric Acid helps with the pH level of the formula. Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer is a synthetic polymer. It thickens the formula. Disodium EDTA is a synthetic stabilizer and preservative. It helps with the viscosity of the product. Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil is an essential oil, it has cooling and perfuming properties. Limonene is a scent ingredient, not everyone tolerate it.

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream

How does Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream work?

Good moisturizer for acne-prone skin should be lightweight and have ingredients good for acne. It shouldn't be greasy, but hydrating. This moisturizer has it all. It's a calming formula that smells like tea tree oil, but for me, it kinda smells like toothpaste. I don't know if it's my nose or it smells a bit different from the entire series. This formula is based on 4 different patents: p-REFINYL, FRUCTAN, EVERMAT and Beautiful Herb story-complex. The whole magic about acne is that we don't only need an antibacterial ingredient, but the key to acne and post-acne pigmentation are calming ingredients like Centella, mugwort or houttuynia. This moisturizer has some calming and cooling abilities, I wish I could use it during the summer, but I think it might be great for maskne season too (especially when I guess we are going in a straight line to 4th wave and going back to wearing masks everywhere). As I said with the toner - for teens and not only teens this cream can be really useful, some people might have issues with the scent (my mom hates it since she's allergic to mint), but for many people cooling effects are going to work fine. You can even put this moisturizer in a fridge to get even better cooling effects (but be careful since cold cream + warm skin can cause some issues with muscles). Sadly, the effects I show you today might not be as great as you would suspect since my lifestyle and diet last week went wrong - my best friend came back from the UK after almost 2 days and instead of focusing on a balanced diet, I ended up eating stuff my body hates (the same stuff that causes acne - don't eat well-processed food, it's not good for you, and it doesn't help with your acne), not to mention my lifestyle since last month is bad, I spend up to 18 hours working in total (yes, I barely have a private life and now I'm trying to do my best and post regularly).

Purging?

While using Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Cream at first you might feel like your acne is getting worse. Why? It's nothing bad, it's purging - a reaction of the skin to active ingredients like acids. Since Some By Mi uses AHA, BHA and PHA, purging can happen at first, but it should end in a week or two, it all depends on your skin.
