Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Cream

Is propolis still a trendy ingredient? Even if right now K-beauty is full of retinol, there is still a place for natural ingredients with antibacterial properties. Some By Mi Propolis B5 series contains manuka honey, canola honey, propolis and royal jelly - ingredients which we spot all the time and a secret of many generations for ages. About Some By Mi

Some By Mi is a brand that became successful overnight... Or at least that's how it feels. The name Some By Mi is a combination of "something" and "by a miracle". Some By Mi wanted to create a miracle for the skin that isn't temporary, that's why the team of skin professionals created ideal formulas for your skin with the use of natural ingredients since mother nature gave us many amazing ingredients. Some By Mi avoids so-called "worrisome ingredient". AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle is probably the most known series by Some By Mi, even if this brand has even more to offer!

Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Toner - Scent & Texture

This toner has a scent, it's more like a flower scent than a honey scent, but it's not as heavy as in the cream. It's a liquid toner.

Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Toner - Ingredients

Propolis Extract(65%), Honey Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Propanediol, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Honey, Panthenol(5,000 ppm), Royal Jelly Extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Pollen Extract, Malt Extract, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Adenosine, Madecassoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Ceramide NP, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, C12-13 Pareth-9, Sodium Polyacrylate, Water, Benzyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Raspberry Ketone, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Coumarin
I guess two years ago Propolis Extract was super popular in skincare. People use Propolis for thousands of years, it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. In my case, Propolis helps me with acne, but Propolis ampoules are good if you want to get the honey skin look. If you're allergic to bees then I recommend you avoid this ingredient but if bees are not a problem for you - it's an ingredient that can change your skincare game. Some By Mi uses 65% of Propolis Extract in this formula. Honey Extract is an antibacterial ingredient. Dipropylene Glycol is a solvent. Butylene Glycol is a moisturizer and solvent, but it's also alcohol. You see, not every alcohol in skincare is terrible. Some of them have positive effects on your skin - just like Butylene Glycol, which is a popular substance even in eco/green cosmetic products. Hydroxyethyl Urea is a moisturizer. Propanediol is a solvent with moisturizing properties. Similar to Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol is an ingredient that some people try to avoid. You're most likely to see Propanediol instead of Propylene Glycol in an organic skincare product, and the reason for this change is simple. Ecocert recommends it. Niacinamide is a miracle ingredient. It does lots of great work. Do you have problems with dark spots? Try Niacinamide! Acne? Niacinamide will be an ideal pick for you too! Maybe you've got issues with the skin barrier? Solve it with Niacinamide! Wrinkles? You might want to try Niacinamide as well. Sensitive skin might find Niacinamide a bit problematic when it's mixed with Vitamin C or used in the same routine as Vitamin C. I can't deny Niacinamide is a skincare treasure! It feels like 1,2-Hexanediol is everywhere, and it's not a surprise. Even if it's a solvent, it's also a moisturizer. Centella Asiatica Extract is an ingredient that stays in the skincare trend. Lots of ingredients used in skincare have a long history of use in medicine. This ingredient isn't different because Centella is a part of Ayurveda, a traditional (or if you prefer - alternative) medicine used by people for ages. Nowadays we associate it with India. Centella is a herb primarily applied in skincare for its healing properties. It speeds up the healing process, and that's why acne-prone skin loves it. If you're pregnant or you plan pregnancy, then try to find body care products with Centella Asiatica because it can have a valuable meaning on skin elasticity as well as stretch marks. Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water is a hydrosol of a popular essential oil. You probably know Tea Tree as an essential oil ingredient. EO's are controversial because they are not as safe as people think. Essential oils are similar to Alcohol, some are positive and some are negative because they can cause allergic reactions and be phototoxic or photosensitive. Tea Tree Oil is a good guy, it's super helpful in curing acne. It shouldn't be used straight on your skin, it needs to be diluted. It has antibacterial and antiseptic properties just like an extract from. In hydrosol form, this ingredient works as an astringent.

Honey is an antibacterial ingredient. Panthenol (5,000 ppm) is nothing else than Pro-vitamin B5, a soothing moisturizer with positive meaning to the skin barrier. It speeds up the healing process. Royal Jelly Extract is supposed to be an anti-aging ingredient known even in ancient times due to the high number of vitamins and minerals in it. Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract should be quite known to you if you are following K-beauty skincare trends. In 2019 we had a massive number of new products inspired by Mugwort. Artemisia comes in many different forms. Artemisia Princeps is called Japanese Mugwort, but also Korean Mugwort. For me, this ingredient will always remind me of Korea because of "The Legend Of Dangun”. Artemisia has wide use in culinary, but does Artemisia work for the skin? We still have a lot to learn about Mugwort, we need more research to find out if Artemisia has a positive or negative meaning to the skin. It is told that it can be moisturizing, good for acne-prone skin but most sensitive skin. Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract is an ingredient that stays in the skincare trend. Pollen Extract is an emollient. Malt Extract is an ingredient derived from barley. It has soothing properties. It can make your skin feels smooth. Glycerin is one of the most popular humectants in skincare. There's a large number of myths around glycerin like it can clog your skin. It doesn't clog your pores, but too much glycerin can make a sticky layer on the epidermis and even make your skin dryer than before due to TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Still, it's an ingredient that we want to see in formulas. Sodium Hyaluronate is a salt form of a popular Natural Moisturizing Factor - Hyaluronic Acid. Allantoin is a powerful ingredient in skincare, and I think we have all known it since the early days. My family didn't imagine my childhood without this cream. Allantoin derives from comfrey, and it has soothing properties, but it also speeds up the healing process, which makes it ideal for acne-prone skin and sensitive skin. Adenosine is another elegant ingredient. It speeds up the healing process and repairs the skin barrier. It's ideal for inflamed skin, and it might have a positive effect on skin elasticity.

Madecassoside is an active compound of K-beauty famous Centella Asiatica. It is not a surprise why Madecassoside, as well as Gotu Kola, are so common in skincare - they have wound healing properties. It boosts the healing process which makes them ideal for acne-prone, sensitive or inflamed skin. Madecassoside is an antioxidant that you have to try! Madecassic Acid is an active compound of Centella Asiatica - a famous K-beauty ingredient. Even if Madecassic Acid is not as popular as Madecassoside, it's still a great healing ingredient. Asiaticoside has its roots in Centella Asiatica, it's one of the triterpenoid saponins. It supports wound healing. Asiatic Acid is an active compound of Centella Asiatica, and it also has powerful healing properties. Ceramide NP or Ceramide 3 is an ingredient that we want to see in our products. Ceramides naturally occur in human skin, and they have a dominant role. You can find them in the lipid barrier of the skin along with cholesterol and fatty acids. Ceramide is like a cement of the skin. It makes sure that your skin won't get dehydrated. Citric Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) - a chemical exfoliant. It's derived from fruits like lemon. It's a weak acid and usually weaker AHA acids act like moisturizers. In this case, Citric Acid helps with the pH level of the formula. Sodium Citrate regulates pH, we call substances like this a buffer. C12-13 Pareth-9 is an emulsifier. Sodium Polyacrylate is an absorbent and thickener. It does complete work with water formulas. Water is an ingredient that you can find in almost every product. Its purpose in products is easy - it's a solvent. Benzyl Glycol is a solvent. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative. It keeps products fresh. Raspberry Ketone and Coumarin give scent to the product. Disodium EDTA is a synthetic stabilizer and preservative. It helps with the viscosity of the product. Fragrance is a scent composition. Benzyl Alcohol is a preservative.

Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Toner - How does it work?

I guess toners are one of the hardest products for me to describe since you barely ever can find a bad toner. The main idea behind toner - at least that's what every esthetician is taught is the balance of pH. Back in the days, nobody cared about the pH of the cleanser, it was rare to see pH 5,5 in cleansers - I have a few French pharmacy cleansers at home which I don't use since the pH = 7 and for acne-prone skin, this pH can cause more acne so stick to pH 5,0-5,5. Nowadays, we usually treat toner as additional moisture. Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Toner contains 65% of Propolis Extract, it's an interesting result in my opinion. I used to love good serum with the amount of Propolis Extract around 70%. The toner has anti-inflammatory properties. It was created to suit acne-prone and sensitive skin, and I have to agree - if your skin is not a fan of the AHA BHA PHA series then this Some By Mi option might work way better for you due to the smaller amount of active ingredients. Some By Mi recommends using this toner with a pad, but you can use this one with your hand since it doesn't have acids in it - acid toners should be applied with a cotton pad. Some By Mi still uses TrueCica solution, but this one also contains PRO-PANTHENOL a combination of propolis and panthenol. Add Ceramides and you have a great solution to strengthen the skin barrier and fight acne.

Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Cream - Packaging

Similar to Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Toner, Cream has orange holo paper, but the jar looks like a honey jar! I love how it looks. The cream does not contain a spatula in the box.

Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Cream - Scent & Texture

The scent is heavy and it has a floral scent, it doesn't remind me of honey, but the texture is similar to AHA BHA PHA cream - a lightweight texture, it feels like skin drinks the moisture from this solution in a second. It works great under makeup.

Ceramide is like a cement of the skin. It makes sure that your skin won't get dehydrated. Sodium Hyaluronate is a salt form of a popular Natural Moisturizing Factor - Hyaluronic Acid. Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid is a low weight humectant. It's a form of natural moisturizing factor that occurs in our skin - Hyaluronic Acid. The smaller the molecule is, the better it works. Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate is nothing else than another version of... If you thought about Hyaluronic Acid then you're right! It's another humectant in this formula. Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans are supposed to moisture your skin. Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil is not an oil but a wax ester. It's an emollient and it is very similar to human sebum which makes it a great ingredient for the skin. Malt Extract is an ingredient derived from barley. It has soothing properties. It can make your skin feels smooth. Trehalose is sugar and another moisturizer in this formula. Arginine is an amino acid, a moisturizer with antioxidant properties. Tocopherol or Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant. It's a water-soluble ingredient. Some people think it's a natural preservative, but Tocopherol itself in formulas is not the best to preserve the product. It boosts UVB protection, and if you add Vitamin C - you'll get better effects of both vitamins. Adenosine is another elegant ingredient. It speeds up the healing process and repairs the skin barrier. It's ideal for inflamed skin, and it might have a positive effect on skin elasticity. Caprylyl Methicone is an emollient and a volatile silicone. Silicones are good for the skin since they work as occlusives - what they do is protect the skin from dehydration. Volatile silicones are evaporating from the skin, they won't get absorbed by the skin, that's why you shouldn't be scared. If you're allergic then the good news is that the chance of getting allergic reactions to silicones is ultra-tiny! Still, every skin reacts differently that's why it's better to test on your own what ingredient works better for you and then decide if you want it in your makeup (or skincare) or not. Sorbitan Oleate is an emulsifier. Inulin Lauryl Carbamate is an emulsifier. Behenyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol, but also a good emulsifier and emollient. Sorbitan Isostearate is an emulsifier. Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside is a natural surfactant. Xanthan Gum is a thickener and stabilizer which you can find in food and skincare. Carbomer is a thickener and stabilizer. You can often see it in gel formulas. Dimethicone/Phenyl Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer and Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer are making the texture. Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer is a carbomer's distant family. It works as a stabilizer and thickener. Polyisobutene is a thickener.

Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Cream - How does it work?

Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Cream uses some of the solution used in Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Toner. We have here 70% of Propolis which I enjoy a lot, similar amount had some propolis amount that worked for my skin. We have here TrueCica complex and Pro-Panthenol complex. Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Cream should brighten the skin and help with wrinkles, it was hard for me to test how it works on wrinkles, but my skin does feel more hydrated and calmed. I had lots of acne lately, and I feel like it made my skin problem during not the best time, less annoying. What is amazing about this product - it makes your skin glow. The secret of skin glow is in propolis, and this product works perfectly on the skin and under makeup. It didn't roll my sunscreen or foundation. This texture should be ideal for sensitive skin and during the summer, but during colder months it might work well too. Personally, for wintertime, I would prefer a bit heavier texture. But overall, I think it's a cream that many people will enjoy. Obviously, I did not expect to gain any impossible effects and your skin might react a bit different than mine, but for me, this cream is as good as the AHA BHA PHA series.
