Happy Belated Earth Day! It's been a while since I posted about eco & organic Kbeauty and what skincare and beauty brands do for the environment. In the last few years we can see growth in Kbeauty Vegan & Organic brands, lots of brands are following sustainability trends. Prepare yourself because this time instead of 7 brands worth a try, you'll see many new brands and how they impact the skincare industry.
RE:P
One of the first K-beauty brands I tried was RE:P - a Neogen's sister company! The name RE:P stands for Real Elemental Practise, it's a vegan kbeauty brand and probably the only Korean brand with a Leaping Bunny Certificate (previously Outin Futures, a mother company of both RE:P & Neogen had this certificate, I'm not sure if they still use it, but the brand stays Vegan-friendly). The brand focuses not only on what's inside the product but also on the packaging. My personal favourite from this brand is RE:P Bio Fresh Mask With Real Calming Herbs.
RE:P Bio Fresh Mask With Real Calming Herbs

What do I love about it? It's clay mixed with real petals. I used to buy this mask but lately I barely ever see it at a local store.

Aromatica
Aromatica is a South Korean brand which lately grown a lot - I think more Western consumers are using this brand due to the popularity of eco and organic skincare trends. The motto of the brand is "Save the skin, save the planet". Today Aromatica's seller, Tonic15 shared information on how the brand reduces carbon footprint and creates a more sustainable brand by using Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) packaging. Aromatica has a COSMOS certificate, and it's a vegan-friendly brand.
Our vegan (Manyo Factory)
Our Vegan is nothing else than a brand under Manyo Factory. According to the brand's website, the brand is healthy & friendly - for your skin, animals and the planet which translates to healthy formulas with natural ingredients and cruelty-free formulas.
Innisfree
Innisfree is a brand created by Amorepacific Group, why this information is important? Because Amorepacific Group shares lots of important news about their company and how each brand - not only Innisfree impacts society and the planet. Each year Innisfree had an eco hankie campaign, I'm not sure about 2022 since this year Innisfree is collaborating with PLEATSMAMA on upcycled nano bag. Innisfree has many eco campaigns and does lots of good things for the planet. In countries where you can find Innisfree stores, you can give empty bottles of Innisfree products back for recycling purposes. Innisfree has also a great upcycling line created with coffee (mask review is coming soon).

This Innisfree serum is a cult product and I can fully understand that. It's one of my go-to serums.
Laneige
Laneige is another brand from the Amorepacific group and one of the most recognizable Kbeauty brands on the market. Laneige is focused on Water - there's a reason why one of the lines is focused on Water and why we got products like Water Sleeping Mask which is one of my favourite Sleeping Masks. Laneige tries to reduce water usage. The Refill Me campaign has changed in 2020 into the Rescue Walter campaign - money from this campaign helps with drinking water actions around the earth.
Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask

Even if I'm a fan of Water Sleeping Mask, the Cica one is one of the most moisturizing sleeping masks I've ever tried.
Where to buy it? Olive Young (mask set)*, Stylekorean*, Yesstyle* (use my code BETWEENDOTS to save up to 10%)

One of my favourite mists, it has a short period of use due to organic ingredients.
Purito
Purito is a K-beauty brand focused on the skin and the environment. The brand made a cool video about its history and why it decided to remove mineral oils, PEG-s and many other ingredients. The name Purito is a combination of the words Purify and the Chinese character To (土) which stands for soil. The brand name meaning is to go back to the roots and healthy skin barrier with pure ingredients. The brand is against animal testing, so all their products are Cruelty-Free, they also donate money to Best Friend Animal Society. All the formulas (except the snail line) are 100% Vegan- Friendly. They also make paper packaging from recycled paper - that's one of the things you'll notice ASAP. The packaging used by Purito has a different colour and texture. They also donate money to the Korean Federation For Environmental Movement. Purito products are free from Paraben, Ethanol, PEG, Triclosan, Mineral Oil, Silicone, Petrolatum, Sulfate, Phthalate and Oxybenzone. Products are free from synthetic fragrance and colourants.
Toun28
Toun28 is known for its innovative, eco packaging. Products are vegan-friendly.
Phykology
Phykology is a Korean brand. The name Phykology is a mix of words phycology (a study of marine algae) and Korea - since the brand takes all its best from its home country, and that's something I appreciate a lot. All the products created by Phykology are Vegan-friendly & Cruelty-free. The minimalistic design of packaging fits the brand and its formulas - full of natural ingredients. Although each formula created by Phykology is focused on seaweed from Wando Island, that's why on each product you can see 34°N 126°E which is the location of the Island. The motto of the brand is "Beautiful Today, Grateful Tomorrow". The mother company of Phykology is Earthlab. I might not be a fan of the brand saying about themselves "clean beauty" since I believe this term is not a good thing in the cosmetic world. All the products are PETA and Vegan Society Certified.
Phykology Bright Tomorrow Guardian Cream
Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Propanediol, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Phytosqualane, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Limnanthes Alba(Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Phytosteryl/Behenyl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Algae Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Ficus Carica(Fig) Fruit Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Behenyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Arginine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Cholesterol, Xanthan Gum, Fructooligosaccharides, Ceramide NP, Beta-Glucan, Trisodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin
Phykology Bright Tomorrow Guardian Cream has lately changed the visual site of the product, they did a renewal of this product to make sure the new Phykology Bright Tomorrow Guardian Cream's packaging is recyclable and safe for the skin. I know that with aluminium tubes (renewed version is also in an aluminium tube) people are worried about how aluminium can react with the packaging over time and I guess this thing got improved. The cream itself feels rich in ingredients, but it melts delicately to your skin. I had a wonderful time using it during the retinol treatment since it keeps my skin hydrated. It works with my sunscreens and cushions well.
Where to buy it? Bemused Korea* (use code KHE15 to get 10% off on your purchase), Stylekorean*
Phykology 5 Hyaluronic Serum
Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Panthenol, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Water, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Pentylene Glycol
This serum has changed my life and view on Hyaluronic Acid. I know that Hyaluronic Acid is this hype ingredient everybody talks about. Phykology 5 Hyaluronic Serum is the first Hyaluronic Acid serum I enjoy fully. The application process is quite hard due to the thick formula and you need to spend a few more seconds to get a bigger amount of HA from the bottle, but once you apply this serum to your skin, you can feel how hydrated and glowing your skin is getting.

Sioris
Sioris is not the newest brand on the market, it already gained popularity all around the world. The brand creates formulas from natural ingredients, what matters for Sioris is creating no harm to skin and nature. The brand likes to use seasonal ingredients. All the products from Sioris are Vegan-friendly and they usually come in eco-friendly packaging (tiny note, if you buy from big stores - not every big store has changed the way of preparing orders for shipping to be more sustainable). The name Sioris is a combination of words simple and original. The brand's slogan is "the simple way to harness the freshness of nature". I find it surprising how well Sioris deal with distribution since the brand doesn't distribute products older than one year to make sure that every client will get the freshest product available. It's important when your products have fewer preservatives and ingredients that make formulas stay fresh longer. Eco-friendly preservatives exist, I wasn't able to check all Sioris formulas, but even Citric Acid or Butylene Glycol - it's a nice moisturizer and solvent, but it works as a preservative if you use it in the right concentration.
Sioris My First Essener
*Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Water, *Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, “Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Betaine, Polyglutamic Acid, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Sclerotium Gum, Citric Acid
I was surprised by how aesthetically pleasing this brand is but at the same how interesting can be a formula made out of 14 ingredients. I can even add, very simple ingredients, but sometimes simple solutions are the best and few brands prove that. One of these brands is Sioris. The texture is not very bubbly until you shake it. It's a thick toner & essence mixed with one big moisturizing molecule to help your skin gain moisture and balance.

Klairs
Klairs is a South Korean company. The brand belongs to Wishcompany, just like By Wishtrend and Wishtrend itself. According to the Klairs website, the brand makes skincare & makeup (bb cream, concealer and cushion) since 2010. The brand is cruelty-free and supports campaigns to stop animal testing. The majority of Klairs products are Vegan and Vegetarian-friendly. It's not only about animals, but the planet and your skin! Klairs products do not contain harsh colourants and artificial fragrances.
Klairs Supple Preparation Toner Unscented
Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Natto Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium Edta, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Polyquaternium-51, Chlorphenesin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer, Panthenol, Arginine, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit/Leaf/Stem Extract, Beta-Glucan, Althaea Rosea Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Lysine Hcl, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Copper Tripeptide-1
I can't say anything bad about this toner, it's very hydrating, it didn't irritate my skin, I had no allergic reactions, and it's the perfect product. Maybe besides the scent which is quite ew for me, I needed some time to get used to it but if I can stand it - a person with the worst nose to scents - then you can do it too! Is it the best toner I've ever tried? Maybe not the best, I feel like there's no such thing as the best toner - I would have to select the whole group of good toners instead.
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum
Water, Propylene Glycol, Ascorbic Acid 5.0%, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Centella Asiatica Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Nelumbium Speciosum Flower Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Polysorbate 60, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Chaenomeles Sinensis Fruit Extract, Orange Oil (Brazil), Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Camellia Sinensis Callus Culture Extract, Larix Europaea Wood Extract, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Rheum Palmatum Root Extract, Asarum Sieboldi Root Extract, Quercus Mongolia Leaf Extract, Persicaria Hydropiper Extract, Corydalis Turtschaninovii Root Extract, Coptis Chinensis Root Extract, Magnolia Obovata Bark Extract, Lysine Hcl, Proline, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Acetyl Methionine, Theanine, Lecithin, Acetyl Glutamine, Sh-Oligopeptide-1, Sh-Oligopeptide-2, Sh-Polypeptide-1, Sh-Polypeptide-9, Sh-Polypeptide-11, Bacillus/Soybean/Folic Acid Ferment Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop is a 15% Vitamin C solution. 15% (in total) of Ascorbic Acid + SAP is an interesting composition. I have to admit that for many of my friends Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop is a must-have Vitamin C. Not every solution is as stable in white glass as Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. Even if you are supposed to use this serum for 6 months after opening it. So far I'm almost ending the bottle and it didn't change colour at all.
Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop
Sh-Oligopeptide- 1, Sh-Polypeptide- 1, Butylene Glycol, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Chlorphenesin, Guaiazulene, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine
Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop is great if you deal with acne or you want to focus on anti-aging - it does an amazing job! After all, it's a peptide serum!

Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream

This cream doesn't need an introduction! Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is loved by many people including me. I use it as a spot treatment to speed up the healing process after a new pimple shows up on my skin.

AprilSkin
AprilSkin is a South Korean brand, this brand doesn't only create makeup but also makeup. AprilSkin mixes natural ingredients with active ingredients. All products are fragrance-free and clinically tested. From the information I found, AprilSkin was founded in 2014. Artemisia line is vegan-friendly, with many other products too. AprilSkin is working on making all formulas vegan-friendly.
AprilSkin Artemisia Squalane Hydra Gel Cream
Artemisia Vulgaris Extract (80%), Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Water, Glycerin, Rice Bran Extract (10,000ppm), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Persian Lilac Leaf Extract, Persian Lila Flower Extract, Purslane Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Cacao Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin
I have to admit AprilSkin Artemisia Squalane Hydra Gel Cream was a surprise for me in a positive way. The last Artemisia cream I enjoyed a lot was Hanyul. AprilSkin can be a dupe for Hanyul if you need something Vegan-friendly.
elmt
Elmt is a Korean brand in Wishtrend's portfolio and another brand from Wishcompany. Elmt means nothing else than element, when the brand was released, the marketing slogan was "your skin's missing element". The main foundation of the brand is the use of high-quality ingredients and research. The motto is "Skincare Unframed". Elmt is not only focused on your skin but sustainability and ecology. Right now Elmt has only four solutions released. Elmt is a cruelty-free & vegan-friendly brand, all solutions created by the brand are free from silicone oil, artificial scent and colouring.
elmt Skin Illuminating Solution

107 Beauty
Oneoseven Beauty or 107 Beauty is a K-beauty brand. According to the 107 beauty website, the brand was created by Chloe Kwak and Seyong Shin in 2015. The main ingredient in 107 Beauty products is Vinegar. 107 is cruelty-free and PETA certified.
107 Beauty Changa Jelly Low pH Cleanser
Water, Glycerin, Ethoxydiglycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Glycereth-26, Decyl Glucoside, Inonotus Obliquus (Mushroom) Extract, Coceth-7, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder, Glyceryl Caprate, Polyglyceryl-2 Laurate, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Citric Acid, Malt Extract, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Broussonetia Kazinoki Root Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Malus Domestica Fruit Extract, Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Vaccinium Vitis-Idaea Leaf Extract, Tricholoma Matsutake Extract, Vinegar, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Linalool, Limonene, Sodium Chloride, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin
I'm always negative about trying new cleansers because usually when I change my cleansers I have a sad experience - it's all about the wrong pH. 107 Beauty 107 Chaga Jelly Low pH Cleanser has low pH which makes me feel safe since my skin feels the best at a pH of around 5,5. According to 107 Beauty, this cleanser has a pH of around 4,0-5,0 which is still a good value for me - at least I do not feel like my skin gets too dry after cleansing, the cleanser is gentle and it doesn't have bigger bits in the texture. If you check the ingredients then you can spot some green tea in texture, I used to like Glow Serum Mist the most until I saw and felt this lovely texture on my skin. This cleanser makes a delicate foam that works great as a single cleanser or as a water-based cleanser in double-cleansing. I didn't have any bad surprises with this product. It's a must-have!

Primera
Primera is a South Korean brand from Amorepacific Group, I think this brand should be more popular! Love The Earth campaign created by Primera is one of my favourite eco campaigns. Sadly, I'm not sure if the brand continues this campaign.
COSRX
COSRX is a South Korean brand which you might know from the internet, it's a huge brand - the beauty community loves COSRX products. Lots of beauty bloggers love COSRX and there's one reason why COSRX got so big - the product quality and the affordable price. COSRX for me was one of the first K-beauty brands I tried and I keep buying their Acne Pimple Master Patches all the time - in the US it's different but in Europe getting acne patches is not an easy thing. In 2018 COSRX released so many products that I had a problem being up to date with all the new products. Even if COSRX is mostly known for their acne-prone skincare products they make their formulas simple and universal so even if your skin is dry you might be still able to use the - oily skin can get dehydrated as well. COSRX is a cruelty-free brand and that's another good point of this brand, but it's not a vegan brand since they use snail mucin, beeswax, propolis, etc.
COSRX Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream
Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Ceramide Np, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sucrose Distearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Dipropylene Glycol, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Kernel Oil, Beeswax, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Cassia Obtusifolia Seed Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil
This cream is the most important in my house since my mom has rosacea and many products sensitize her skin. COSRX was the first moisturizer in a long time to help her.
Make P:Rem
Make P:Rem is a South Korean skincare brand which in my opinion needs more attention! Especially lately, because the brand has many new products and lines like idebenone ampoule. The name Make P:Rem stands for Make, Pragmatism, and Remedy. The brand is focused on ingredients and sustainability. Make P:Rem is not only about creating amazing formulas for your skin, but they also donate to World Vision to help kids in about 100 countries.
