I feel like we can finally quote the TikTok phrase "I've Been Waiting for This Moment" since lately, new sunscreens arrived at Wishtrend! 2021 wasn't easy for the beauty industry with many sunscreens being pulled out of the market. Wishtrend surprised us this year with two sunscreens - Klairs All-day Airy Sunscreen and By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream. I'm a huge fan of Klairs, but somehow By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ has something that made me choose this one.
I have to admit new sunscreen season on Wishtrend gave me the chance to quote so many cult phrases like Pokemon one "Pikachu, I choose you", but instead I said, "By Wishtrend, I choose you". It's not the newest sunscreen since you saw lots of reviews of this sunscreen before - I'm a bit late with sunscreen season, but let's be honest - sunscreen season is not only about summer! Sun protection is needed all year long!
By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ has one thing which made me wanna try it - the Amorepacific collab. Would you ever imagine Wishtrend and AmorePacific collaborating? I think it's cool! AmorePacific is a company behind many huge beauty brands and patents. The reason behind this collaboration is easy - to create the best possible sunscreen for consumers. High protection and beautiful texture.
About By Wishtrend
By Wishtrend just by the name reminds us of Wishtrend - an online store. It's one of the brands launched by Wishcompany. By Wishtrend is a sister company to Dear, Klairs and elmt. Formulas are free from artificial scents and colourants, the brand doesn't test on animals and some formulas are vegan-friendly.
By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ - Packaging
I have to admit that I don't see any main motive in By Wishtrend branding. By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream has this cool, quite a modern style. Sunscreen comes in a paper box. You can find information about ingredients, cautions and directions, PAO date, etc. The box was printed with soy ink and can be recycled. Once you open the paper box, you can see the quote "skincare with real motivation" which seems to be the brand's motto. Inside you can find a QR code that leads to By Wishtrend's Instagram account and information that this sunscreen was made in collaboration with AmorePacific R&I Center. Inside the box, you can find a plastic bottle with a pump. The only problem I got with this packaging is the non-recyclable sign. PAO date (period after opening) on the box says 12 months, but I always recommend using sunscreen in 6 months - don't use sunscreen for summertime and then leave it for another summer. There are reasons why products have PAO dates + remember that sun protection of sunscreen if open will degrade with time.
Why does By Wishtrend collaborate with AmorePacific R&I Center?
I'm aware that the majority of people think that By Wishtrend collaborated with AmorePacific on this sunscreen, but we have to be more specific. Lots of brands do their research, and that's why the beauty industry grows all the time, and we have so many new substances to treat pigmentation, protect skin from UV radiation and more. R&I stands for Research & Innovation Center. AmorePacific has a great Youtube channel where you can learn more about R&I Center.
Wishtrend TV made a video with Eunice and Mehdi (so-called interns in Wishternd videos and campaign related to By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++) where you can learn that By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ is manufactured by AmorePacific R&I Center. I recommend the video if you want to see how UV testing looks like - I had a chance to experience similar tests during my med school years when we were testing MED doses - it's a common practice before PUVA treatments.
By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ - Texture & Scent
By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ has a white texture, and at first, I thought that it might contain Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide because this texture is so thick and white. Plot twist - there's no mineral sunscreen in this product! The texture might feel rich and a bit oily, but it's more like a rich texture full of Panthenol than oil. It leaves a delicate, moisturizing film which might feel a bit heavy since this sunscreen has a high protective value and few fatty acids. After 2 minutes sunscreen should sink into your skin and you shouldn't feel the weight of the product. The texture is non-sticky, but it works quite well with makeup. It has a typical scent - I feel like even if you won't add any scent ingredients to the sunscreen, sun-protecting substances have a typical scent.
By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ - Ingredients

Water hides in a cosmetic product under names such as Aqua or Eau. It's a solvent, but it's not your regular drinking water. Water in skin care needs to fit some standards. It should be clean and free from minerals, microorganisms or other substances. Usually, water makes up the majority of the content of the product. Homosalate is a sunscreen agent. It protects the sun from UVB radiation (295-315 nm) and its peak is at 306nm. It's a photosensitive and weak sun-protecting ingredient that's why you can usually find it in a pair with Avobenzone or other substances. Butylene Glycol is a common ingredient in products. It's not only a solvent. We use butylene glycol because it helps with the penetration of active ingredients, protects products from drying and moisturizes skin and hair. This ingredient can prevent hair loss and make your hair stronger. Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate or Uvinul A Plus is a sun-protecting agent. It covers the UVA range (320-400 nm), and its peak of protection is 354 nm. Ethylhexyl Salicylate or Octisalate is a sun-protecting agent. It's a chemical sunscreen that protects the skin from UVB radiation (280-320nm), but it has its peak at 306nm which makes it a weak sunscreen. Glycerin or Glycerol is a humectant. Its origin can be natural or synthetic - depending on the product. It protects TEWL (transepidermal water loss) and naturally occurs in the skin. It's one of the NMFs - natural moisturizing factors. It's practical in haircare. Glycerin won't clog your skin or irritate it just the opposite - it protects your skin from irritation. Phenyl Trimethicone is silicone and an emollient. It improves the texture of the product and makes it easier to spread on the skin. Phenyl Trimethicone leaves a delicate film on the skin to prevent your skin from TEWL. It's easy to remove it with cleansing products. This ingredient is useful in haircare products since it makes it easier to maintain your hair. In sunscreen, it makes products more resistant to water (it makes sunscreen more waterproof). C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate is an emollient with antimicrobial properties. Silica is a mineral-natural ingredient. It's popular in makeup and skincare. It can absorb sebum or thicken the texture.
Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine is quite a hard name to remember, that's why you can find people talking about this ingredient by calling it Tinosorb S. It's one of the newer types of sunscreen agents and one of the strongest ones. It's a chemical sunscreen that protects skin from UVA (315-400 nm) & UVB (280-315 nm), and its peak is high. It's a stable sunscreen that works with other sun-protecting substances to protect their early photodegradation. Dibutyl Adipate is an oily emollient. This oil-soluble ingredient dissolves in oils. It creates a hydrating film on the surface of the skin to prevent skin from dehydration. You can meet it in sunscreens as a solvent. Cetearyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol. In the beauty industry, it's an emollient. Many people associate alcohol with something awful for the epidermis, but not every alcohol is nasty. Cetearyl alcohol leaves a moisturizing film on the skin to prevent your skin from transepidermal water loss (TEWL). We use Cetearyl alcohol to create an emulsion. Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid is a long name, that's why you probably know this ingredient as Mexoryl SX or ecamsule. Mexoryl SX was patented in 1982 by L'oreal so when we talk about other brands we stick to the name Ecamsule. This sunscreen protects your skin from UVA radiation (315–400 nm) and it has its peak at 345nm. It's a chemical sunscreen with high stability. 1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic solvent and preservative - it protects products from microorganisms by boosting other preservatives. At the same time, it can moisturize the skin, and it has no unpleasant effects on your epidermis. Behenyl Alcohol might sound scary, but it's fatty alcohol. This type of alcohol is positive for the skin since it works as an emollient. It helps with the texture of the product. Tromethamine is a synthetic pH adjuster. Panthenol (5,000ppm) is a humectant. It prevents skin from TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). Panthenol is also known as vitamin B5, and it helps with irritation. Panthenol can soothe the skin irritated by preservatives, scent ingredients, and chemical sunscreens - it might have a meaning for lipids in our skin and skin barrier. It speeds up the healing process. It's good to use it after sunbathing. In hair care, Panthenol has moisturizing properties. If you have problems detangling your hair or hair growth go for Panthenol. It is good to mix it with niacinamide and zinc oxide. You can see it in products for atopic dermatitis or psoriasis. Potassium Cetyl Phosphate is a surfactant and emulsifier for oil in water formulas. Potassium Cetyl Phosphate is quite common in SPF formulas since it makes sunscreen more water-resistant. Glyceryl Stearate is an emollient with emulsifying properties. Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6 is a thickener, it helps create elegant, non-sticky formulas. Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer is a synthetic polymer and quite a large molecule. It works as a thickener and emulsion stabiliser.
Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Water is a hydrosol version of chamomilla. It has soothing properties. Hydrogenated Lecithin is a version of lecithin. It works as an emollient in the formulas. Glyceryl Caprylate is a natural oily emollient and emulsifier. It creates a delicate film on the surface of the skin. It has some antimicrobial properties. Stearic Acid is a fatty acid that works as an emollient and emulsifier. Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate is an emulsifier, suitable for vegans. Palmitic Acid is a fatty acid, and an oily emollient. It works as an emulsifier. Disodium EDTA neutralizes metal ions in the formula to keep products fresh. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative with subtle moisturizing and antimicrobial properties. Adenosine naturally occurs in the skin. One of the adenosine's roles in our bodies is being a neurotransmitter. In skin care, we use adenosine for its anti-wrinkle properties. Adenosine is an anti-inflammatory ingredient. It can boost collagen production. At the same time, it speeds up the healing process. Adenosine can have positive effects on reducing redness. In hair care, adenosine can help with hair loss. Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract is an ingredient which I prefer to see in skincare than seeing liquorice as food. It's an amazing antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. It can help with acne and visible red veins and it brightens the skin. Or I should say it works on pigmentation. What's better than an anti-inflammatory ingredient with brightening properties? Liquorice is not new, since it's a popular ingredient in traditional herbal medicine. It's a source of glycyrrhizinic acid and glabridin. Phytosterols are sometimes called plant-derived cholesterols. They are very similar to cholesterol, and they come from plants. They have moisturizing properties. t-Butyl Alcohol is a solvent with a scent similar to camphor. It's common in perfumes. Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract is an antioxidant. Scutellaria Baicalensis also known as the Chinese skullcap is one of the fundamental herbs in Chinese traditional medicine. Skullcap Root Extract has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It's a source of flavonoids, alkaloids and other substances. It's great for sensitive skin as well as acne-prone skin. It might help you with pigmentation. Myristic Acid is a fatty acid. It works as an emulsifier and cleansing agent. Lauric Acid is a fatty acid, it has antibacterial properties. It works as an emulsifier and cleansing agent. Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract is an antioxidant - it fights free radicals and fixes the damage. Green tea is a source of many positive to the skin substances such as catechins (EGCG, EGC, EC, CG), flavonoids, amino acids, vitamin C, and minerals. It works for all skin types. Since it has antibacterial properties, many products for young, acne-prone skin contain this ingredient. It has soothing properties, and it's good to use it along with sunscreen to boost the protection of your skin. Tocopherol is an antioxidant known as Vitamin E. It's an oil-soluble vitamin that fights free radicals and makes UVB protection and the natural lipid barrier stronger. It's good to mix it with vitamin C for better effects. Oily skin might react with pore-clogging to vitamin E. It is not true that vitamin E works as a preservative or helps with scars.
How does By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ work?
I tested quite a few sunscreens lately, and I'll be super honest with you By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ is not the lightest sunscreen I tried, but it's one of the top 3 sunscreens of 2022 for me. This sunscreen was tested by 3 different labs. The Clinical Trial Center for Bio-Industry at Semyung University, Global Medical Research Center and COSMESERVICE. Each of these labs proved that SPF and UVA protection is right. By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ is safe to use, and you don't have to be scared of low values since this sunscreen can really protect your skin from UVA & UVB. According to the labs, By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ protect skin from Blue light and IR (infrared). It means that people with melasma can also use this sunscreen since melasma is induced by heat (IR rays are bad for melasma).
By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ is a non-sticky sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast. I wasn't at first sure if these claims are right. The texture of By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ seems to be a bit heavy since it's a rich texture and it looks like white cream or even white paint. I tested it on my skin and it doesn't leave a white cast, but I always recommend checking a few reviews since each of us has different skin colour, and even two white people can be white but have different undertones. For example, Tinosorbs which you can also find in By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ look normal on me, but if someone has a warm skin tone, usually such person complains of a bit grey/white cast left by Tinosorb. In this case, I haven't seen any cast. If you apply a bit too much of this texture - leave it for 5 minutes, it should sink into the skin quickly.
At first, I thought this texture might be too heavy, and I felt a bit disappointed, but after a few minutes, I started to understand that By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ isn't heavy. It soaks into the skin and leaves a moist film on the surface. My foundation from Sensai is a bit drying so using it on By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ was a great idea. It looks wonderful on this sunscreen. It is recommended to reapply sunscreen every 2-3 hours even if By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ is a broad-spectrum sunscreen. It feels comfortable on the skin. It's a cruelty-free and vegan-friendly product.
How much does By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ cost and where I can buy it?
By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ costs $28/50g. Right now Wishtrend has some cool promotions on sunscreens. You can use my code DOMINIKA15 to get -15% off on By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ and other products from Wishtrend.
Overall, By Wishtrend UV Defense Moist Cream 50+ PA++++ is one of the most interesting sunscreens released in 2022, and it's worth a try!
