Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm and Thank You Farmer Miracle Age Melawring Dual Balm

You have probably seen multi-balm sticks in many kdramas, it feels like a huge trend started by a Kbeauty brand called Kahi since then many brands released their own multi-balms. Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm and Thank You Farmer Miracle Age Melawring Dual Balm are two new Thank You Farmer products. Are multi-balm products which you need to add to your routine?

This post was made in collaboration with Bemused Korea, even though it still shows my personal opinion on the topic and product.

Why everyone is obsessed with multi-balms?

Multibalms are not a new thing, when I started to blog one of my favourite products were Neogen White Truffle Balm Pact, it was a great product to add moisture to the skin, but Neogen had other product very similar to what we can see trending now - Neogen White Truffle Laycure Oil. Sadly, these two products are no longer available. I believe in 2020 Kahi released Wrinkle Bounce Multi Balm - a multifunctional balm which you can carry everywhere and take care of your eyes and wrinkles. You probably saw actress Kim Go Eun using Kahi Multi Balm in The King: Eternal Monarch or Yumi's Cells - it has sense since Kim Go Eun is Kahi's ambassador. Seo Hye Won used Kahi's Multi Balm in A Business Proposal, you can also spot this product in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. It's no surprise that after its appearance in so many Kdramas, viewers started to complain about this product.

I didn't try Kahi, but I can agree that for dry skin multi-balms can be good since when you look at ingredients, you can see that they can add some moisture to the skin and prevent TEWL. The fact that they come in compact packaging is super useful if you travel a lot like me. Every time I go to my university or travel somewhere, I have to deal with dry lips and patches on my skin. Thanks to Bemused Korea I was able to test two of Thank You Farmer balms: Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm and Thank You Farmer Miracle Age Melawring Dual Balm

About Thank You Farmer

You probably already heard about Thank You Farmer. The brand's meaning is deeper than you think. Just like Farmer takes care of grains, fruits and veggies, Thank You Farmer takes care of the products. Honesty, gratitude to nature and sincerity are important for the brand. Thank You Farmer released its first products in 2015.

Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm and Thank You Farmer Miracle Age Melawring Dual Balm

Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm

The first multi-balm I tried was Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm. It contains 100,000ppm of Gyodong Rice Extract. According to the brand, Gyodong Island is a restricted DMZ area free from pollution. This area is rich in domestic varieties of rice. Thank You Farmer used Junammi type of rice.

The paper box is taller than Thank You Farmer Miracle Age Melawring Dual Balm box. Inside you can find a plastic tube in this pearl shade. It looks elegant. The cap also has a gold rice illustration on the top. In the back, you can spot that the PAO date is 12 months.

Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm - Texture & Scent

Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm has no scent. The texture is rich, but it isn't sticky. The shape of this balm makes it a bit hard to apply at first, and you need to "work it out" a bit to make it work as it should.

Water hides in cosmetic products under names such as Aqua or Eau. It's a solvent, but it's not your regular drinking water. Water in skin care needs to fit some standards. It should be clean and free from minerals, microorganisms or other substances. Usually, water makes up the majority of the content of the product. Dibutyl Adipate is an oily emollient. This oil-soluble ingredient dissolves in oils. It creates a hydrating film on the surface of the skin to prevent the skin from dehydration. You can meet it in sunscreens as a solvent. Synthetic Wax is a synthetic substance that is supposed to work as natural wax. It's an emollient that prevents TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a combination of coconut oil and glycerin. It's a notable emollient, quite common in skincare. It leaves a protective film on the surface of the epidermis to save your cutis from dehydration. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride has a significant role in skin care products - it makes the application process effortless. Some people might experience pore-clogging after using Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, but pore-clogging and skin reactions to ingredients are individual. What works for you might not work for someone else. Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil is a source of linoleic acid and vitamin E. Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil works as an emollient. Sometimes you can see it as a carrier oil for other substances. It has anti-inflammatory properties and makes the skin barrier stronger. This oil should work on all types of hair porosity. Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate is a water-in-oil emulsifier. Butylene Glycol is a common ingredient in products. It's not only a solvent. We use butylene glycol because it helps with the penetration of active ingredients, protects products from drying and moisturizes skin and hair. This ingredient can prevent hair loss and make your hair stronger. Octyldodecanol is an emollient and fatty alcohol. It's also a solvent. Tocopheryl Acetate is a form of Vitamin E, Tocopherol. It's an antioxidant that helps with skin & hair hydration and prevents TEWL (transepidermal water loss). This ester form of Tocopherol is more stable, but it's not as effective. Some people consider it a preservative, but Vitamin E should be used as a preservative. It's good to mix it with Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid. Ozokerite is a mineral wax. It's an emollient. Glycerin or Glycerol is a humectant. Its origin can be natural or synthetic - depending on the product. It protects TEWL (transepidermal water loss) and naturally occurs in the skin. It's one of the NMFs - natural moisturizing factors. It's practical in hair care. Glycerin won't clog your skin or irritate it just the opposite - it protects your skin from irritation. Polyethylene is a synthetic emulsifier and film-making substance. Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer is a thickener that leaves an occlusive film on the surface of the skin to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract is a source of proteins, vitamins like vitamin E and minerals like potassium. It's a rich antioxidant with antiseptic and anti-ageing properties. Rice Extract has positive effects on hair. Stellaria Media (Chickweed) Extract is a source of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, flavonoids, saponins, phytosterols and more. It's an antioxidant with anti-aging properties. Centella Asiatica Extract is probably the most popular extract in skincare. It comes under a few names - Asiatic pennywort, tiger grass or Gotu kola. Centella Asiatica's roots are in Ayurveda. This extract is successful because it's a source of triterpene saponins - madecassoside and asiaticoside. Centella Asiatica Extract has anti-inflammatory properties. It speeds up the wound-healing process. You can use it to treat acne since it has soothing and antibacterial properties. It boosts fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin or even helps with hyaluronic acid synthesis. Centella is recommended for rosacea and cellulitis since it helps with blood microcirculation. In hair care, Centella can help with hair growth.

Ceramides naturally occur in the skin - it's like cement in the skin. Ceramide NP strengthens the skin barrier to prevent dehydration. Ceramide AS protects skin from TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss), makes your skin barrier stronger and prevents skin desquamation. Ceramide AP or Ceramide 6-II is one of the ingredients found in intercellular cement. It protects the skin from TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss) and it makes the skin barrier stronger. Ceramide NS is one of the ingredients found in intercellular cement. It makes the skin barrier stronger and prevents dehydration. It calms irritated skin. Ceramide EOP protects skin from TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). It's mostly recommended for dry skin, aging skin or dehydrated and sensitive skin. It creates a protective, occlusive layer on the surface of the skin. Ceramide EOP can help with hair care. Cholesterol is a lipid with a crucial role in our skin. This ingredient makes sure that our skin barriers are healthy. It can also work as a stabilizer. Lactobacillus Ferment is a probiotic with a positive effect on the microbiome of the skin. This soothing ingredient can moderate sebum production and help with acne since it has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Hydrogenated Lecithin is a version of lecithin. It works as an emollient in the formulas. Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil is an emollient rich in antioxidants and nutritious components. It prevents TEWL (transepidermal water loss). It makes skin soft and less fragile. It works well on hair too. Sodium Chloride is nothing else than well-known salt. In skin care, sodium chloride is a thickener. We also use it as an exfoliant. Microcrystalline Wax is an oily synthetic emollient. Bisabolol is a substance derived from Chamomile. It has anti-inflammatory properties and it speeds up the wound-healing process. It's a great ingredient to calm sensitive skin. The good news is that even if you're allergic to chamomile, you can still use bisabolol. Lauryl Polyglyceryl-3 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone is water in oil and water in a silicone emulsifier. Polyglyceryl-5 Polyricinoleate is an emulsifier. Glyceryl Caprylate is a natural oily emollient and emulsifier. It creates a delicate film on the surface of the skin. It has some antimicrobial properties. Caprylyl Glycol is an oily emollient and humectant. It leaves a moisturizing film on the surface of the skin. 1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic solvent and preservative - it protects products from microorganisms by boosting other preservatives. At the same time, it can moisturize the skin, and it has no unpleasant effects on your epidermis. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative with subtle moisturizing and antimicrobial properties. Stearalkonium Hectorite is a thickener. Propylene Carbonate is a solvent. Dipropylene Glycol is a solvent with moisturizing properties. Tocopherol is an antioxidant known as Vitamin E. It's an oil-soluble vitamin that fights free radicals and makes UVB protection and natural lipid barrier stronger. It's good to mix it with vitamin C for better effects. Oily skin might react with pore-clogging to vitamin E. It is not true that vitamin E works as a preservative or helps with scars. Glyceryl Stearate is an emollient with emulsifying properties.

How does Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm work?

I love how comfortable it is to use Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm. The packaging is well-designed - I can put it in my bag and go out. Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm was created for dry skin and dry patches. It's a formula rich in ceramides since we can spot 5 different ceramides in the formula: Ceramide NP, ceramide AP, Ceramide AS, Ceramide NS and Ceramide EO. It contains 100,000 ppm of Gyodong Rice Extract, an area that is free from pollution according to the brand. It's not a surprise, since Thank You Farmer is focused on the quality of their natural ingredients. This balm can be used not only on your face, I find it useful on elbows or even hands since my hands after COVID are still dealing with some skin issues.

I'm aware that depending on the brand people are not a fan of multi-balms due to sickness of the formula, but Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm doesn't have this problem. It does melt a bit and higher temperatures like 45C might be a problem for it. Thank You Farmer recommends storage of this balm in temperatures between 10 and 35C. Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Aqua Multi Balm helps with dry patches, it's hard to say if it helps with pigmentation, but it's a product which I would recommend if you travel a lot or need extra moisture. I like to use it when I sit at work in front of the computer and I feel stressed or tired, when I apply it on my skin, it feels relaxing.

It has a double formula - the inner part is white, and it has anti-wrinkle properties. The outer part is yellow and it has to brighten properties. According to the brand, there's an 8:2 blending ratio. This balm is flat so it's easier to apply, but it's more oily. It's not super sticky, but you can feel some oiliness on your skin.
