Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment Review

I guess we can agree that Laneige lip products are the gold standard for lip products, and I'm not only talking about K-beauty. The number of people I know who don't shop for Korean skincare but swear by Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is enormous. In 2024, Laneige released Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment—enriched with hyaluronic acid and peptides but also infused with collagen complex and peony extract. Doesn't this sound like heaven for lips?

Brand introduction: Laneige

2019 was the year of the Laneige - Cream Skin series, new products in the Water Bank series, Laneige in Europe, Glow Makeup Serum and now Cica Mask! 2021 wasn't worse for the brand - retinol series. 2024 just started but Laneige lately introduced us to new Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Creams - in three different versions. Laneige is a brand with 30 years of tradition. Yes, Laneige was established in 1994 so this year Laneige turns 30! I guess we can expect some new collaborations, throwback products or something different this year. The owner of this company is Amore Pacific. The name Laneige comes from the French "La Neige", which means snow.

Laneige focuses on water and technology. This brand knows how to keep your skin hydrated while fighting other skin problems, but it's not only about skincare! The Two-Tone Bar Lipstick used by actress Song Hye-Kyo in the K-drama Descendants of The Sun sold out quickly. I remember Two Toner Bar Lipstick better from Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo with Lee Sung-Kyung. Both actresses made an appearance in Laneige commercials. Actress Kim Yoo-Jung is currently the face of Laneige and Radian-C Cream. It's quite an affordable brand with sweet but not too sugary packaging. The packaging makes me believe that the main targets are teens and young adults. It's like a transition between Etude House and Sulwhasoo if Etude House is a teenage girl and Sulwhasoo is a mature lady.

Lately, you have probably seen Laneige in the K-drama "My Demon" - even the first episode had a cool product placement of Laneige Neo Cushion Matte in a renewed version. I got a new version which I'm testing for you, but meanwhile, you can check the review of the old version on Kherblog. You probably saw Kim Yoo Jung - the actress playing Do Do-hee in "My Demon" - in Laneige commercials. Laneige also has a foreign ambassador - Sydney Sweeney. One of the new Laneige ambassadors is also Jin from BTS. One of the interesting marketing moves lately was a collaboration with T1 (Korean esports team), this collaboration is available at Amore Mall*.  2025 started with some new lip sets and the introduction of Perfect Renew 3x Signature Serum on the US market.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment was released in 2024.  According to the brand, it makes lips look more plump and smooth.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment - Packaging

The entire Bouncy & Firm has this lovely pastel pink aesthetic which I adore. Have you ever seen anything more beautiful? Laneige is popular for its amazing applicators in lip products, and somehow this and previous lip treatments have applicators hidden in the packaging. If you buy a regular Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask you can see how amazing the applicator is but you can't hide it in the packaging, which can be difficult. Laneige Lip Treatment Balm - the product which I believe is no longer available had a bit softer applicator, the one that comes with Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is a well-designed piece of plastic.

I strongly believe that Laneige Bouncy and Firm Lip Treatment was designed by the same people as Laneige Neo Cushion Matte or Laneige Neo Foundation Matte. It's a simple, but elegant packaging - a type of elegance that isn't boring. Inside you can find a tiny cap that protects the product.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment - Texture & Scent

My main problem with lip products is that the majority of them feel super sticky. Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is a bit oily, I can't deny it, but it isn't sticky. It doesn't make my lips stick to each other. It's more like it leaves a protective layer on the lips. The reason why I bought Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is the texture - it looks like a transparent jelly with pieces of gold. There are some ceramide capsules and these golden tiny pieces that make this product even more interesting.

The scent of Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment reminds me of peony flowers, according to Laneige, you can smell a hint of plum too.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment - Ingredients

Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopheryl Acetate, Squalane, Water/Aqua/Eau, Stearyl Alcohol, Lithospermum Erythrorhizon Root Extract, Cetyl Alcohol, Fragrance/Parfum, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Myristyl Alcohol, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Cetyl Esters, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Butylene Glycol, Citronellol, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Menthoxypropanediol, Linalool, 1,2-Hexanediol, Geraniol, Limonene, Cholesterol, Iron Oxides (Ci 77492), Hexyl Cinnamal, Ceramide NP, Propanediol, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Glycine Max (Soybean) Polypeptide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Hyaluronic Acid, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Paeonia Albiflora Flower Extract

Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin) is an emollient. Hydrogenated Polyisobutene is an emollient. It's a synthetic substitute for squalane. It leaves a delicate film on the skin. It prevents skin from dehydration. Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer is a polymer used in oily formulas to create gel texture. It creates an occlusive film on the skin's surface to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is a combination of coconut oil and glycerin. It's a notable emollient that is quite common in skincare. It leaves a protective film on the surface of the epidermis to save your cutis from dehydration. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride has a significant role in skin care products - it makes the application process effortless. Some people might experience pore-clogging after using Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, but pore-clogging and skin reactions to ingredients are individual. What works for you might not work for someone else.

Tocopheryl Acetate is a form of Vitamin E, Tocopherol. It's an antioxidant that helps with skin & hair hydration and prevents TEWL (transepidermal water loss). This ester form of Tocopherol is more stable, but it's not as effective. Some people consider it a preservative, but Vitamin E should be used as a preservative. It's good to mix it with Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid. Squalane is an ingredient very similar to our sebum. Squalane and squalene sound identical, but there's a difference. Squalane has no double bonds while squalene has double bonds. What does it mean? Squalane is a more stable version of squalene. What I love about this ingredient is how well it works with all skin types, and how our skin needs it. Believe me, if your skin is irritated - go for squalane! This ingredient is usually derived from sugarcane or olives. It acts like an emollient and you need it in your life.

Water hides in cosmetic products under names such as Aqua or Eau. It's a solvent, but it's not your regular drinking water. Water in skin care needs to fit some standards. It should be clean and free from minerals, microorganisms or other substances. Usually, water makes up the majority of the content of the product. Usually, when we see any alcohol, we suspect the worst. You shouldn't be scared of Stearyl Alcohol - it's an oily emollient. It leaves a protective film on your skin, It works as an emulsifier too.

Lithospermum Erythrorhizon Root Extract or Gromwels Root Extract has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Traditionally, the root of Lithospermum Erythrorhizon is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Cetyl Alcohol might sound scary, but it's a positive for the skin fatty alcohol. It helps with moisture, and it's a marvellous emollient. It leaves a film on the skin to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss).

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment Review

Fragrance (Parfum) is a scent composition. It can cause allergic reactions. Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer is a synthetic polymer that makes this product a gel. Myristyl Alcohol is a good alcohol. It's an emollient and it protects skin from dehydration. Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax is an oily emollient rich in antioxidants and nutritious components. It creates a delicate film on the surface of the skin to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss).

Hydrogenated Lecithin is a version of lecithin. It works as an emollient in the formulas. Butylene Glycol is a common ingredient in products. It's not only a solvent. We use butylene glycol because it helps penetrate active ingredients, protects products from drying, and moisturizes skin and hair. This ingredient can prevent hair loss and strengthen hair. Citronellol is a scent ingredient. It adds a rose/floral scent to the product. It can be sensitizing.

Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate is a preservative with antioxidant properties. Linalool gives a floral scent to products. It can irritate the skin. 1,2-Hexanediol is a synthetic solvent and preservative - it protects products from microorganisms by boosting other preservatives. At the same time, it can moisturize the skin, and it has no unpleasant effects on your epidermis. Geraniol makes products smell like geranium. It can be sensitizing.

Limonene is a scent ingredient, and it makes the product smell like lemon or orange. Limonene can enhance the penetration of other substances, but at the same time, it can irritate the skin. Cholesterol is a lipid with a crucial role in our skin. This ingredient makes sure that our skin barrier is healthy. It can also work as a stabilizer. Iron Oxides (Ci 77492) is a matte, yellow pigment.

Hexyl Cinnamal is an aromatic aldehyde. It naturally occurs in chamomile, and it adds a jasmine/floral scent to the product. It can be sensitizing. Ceramides naturally occur in the skin - it's like cement in the skin. Ceramide NP strengthens the skin barrier to prevent dehydration. Propanediol is also known as natural glycol - an alternative to propylene glycol. Propanediol is a solvent with additional moisturizing properties. It makes the product smooth to the touch. It can even improve the effectiveness of active ingredients.

Palmitic Acid is a fatty acid and an oily emollient. It works as an emulsifier. Stearic Acid is a fatty acid that works as an emollient and emulsifier. Sodium Hyaluronate or sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. It's a form of hyaluronic acid and naturally occurs in the skin. Sodium Hyaluronate has strong water-binding properties. Sodium hyaluronate combined with elastin and collagen is like a scaffolding for the skin. It has hydrating properties and leaves a hydrating film on the skin, but sodium hyaluronate prevents skincare products from drying. Ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative with subtle moisturizing and antimicrobial properties.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment Review

Disodium EDTA neutralizes metal ions in the formula to keep products fresh. Hydrolyzed Collagen is a humectant with a smaller molecular weight than Collagen. It binds water to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss). It makes hair easier to detangle. Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid is a low-weight humectant. We have to remember that not every molecule can get through the skin surface and lower molecule HA can penetrate the skin deeper and bring moisture inside the skin. It's a natural polymer that binds water in the skin to prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer is related to sodium hyaluronate. It's a good moisturizer.

Hyaluronic Acid is an ingredient loved by everyone! Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the skin. It's a glycosaminoglycan or GAG. What does that mean? It's a long polysaccharide - nothing else than sugar, and we all know what sugars do in the skin. It's not different from Hyaluronic Acid - it acts like a humectant. One HA molecule is supposed to hold up to 1000x heavier molecules than this one single HA molecule. Hyaluronic acid can have different molecular weights - smaller molecules are usually more hydrating than bigger ones.

Paeonia Albiflora (Peony) Root Extract is a source of paeoniflorin that makes this ingredient anti-inflammatory. Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate is related to sodium hyaluronate. It boosts moisture in the skin and elasticity. It helps prevent skin from TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Paeonia Albiflora (Peony) Flower Extract has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties. It helps prevent TEWL (transepidermal water loss).

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment Review

How does Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment work?

Let me start by saying that I'm not a fan of lip products, and that's a big problem for me because I can't find products that give this comfortable feeling. Many products are just super sticky or oily and that's something I'm not searching for. In 2024 I started to notice that lip products are changing. I'm talking about the ones that are more about care than giving any colour to the lips, but in 2025 this is changing.
If you love lip products then you probably heard about lipcerin - a lip product created by LG H&H, so only brands that belong to LG H&H like Belif, CNP, Freshian, Code Glokolor, The Whoo, O Hui, Beyond, VDL, su:m37, TPSY, Glint or The Face Shop can release lipcerins. I feel like after this formula we can spot so many other brands releasing their lip care products, even Primera - Laneige's sister brand released some special lip care based on retinol.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment Review

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment formula is packed with powerful ingredients like Peony Extract and Ceramides. I should ask that you see these tiny ceramide capsules in the texture - they look like bubbles. Additionally, this product is packed with Collagen Complex™. There's also 5D Hyaluronic Acid - five different molecules of hyaluronic acid, because their molecular weight is a bit different from each other, they provide better moisture to the skin. It's not a new solution, Laneige used it in Laneige Perfect Renew 5D Sun Protector Essence too.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is quite small, the packaging contains 12g of formula. It's not a problem for me because a small amount is enough to cover your entire lips. The texture isn't sticky but it does feel a bit slippery. I enjoy this product a lot, it has a delicate scent but Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment feels comfortable on the lips. The formula provides lasting hydration for lips. I've noticed that my lips are less dry. Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is not your regular lip balm or lip mask, it's a special care for your lips to keep them hydrated and smooth.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is one of the three products released by Laneige in 2024 that belongs to the Bouncy & Firm collection. There's also Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask and Laneige Bouncy & Firm Eye Sleeping Mask which I plan to test and share with you soon.

How much does Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment cost and where to get it?

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is available at Sephora - depending on your country it might be more or less affordable. Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is also available on YesStyle*, it costs $35.97/12g (you can save an additional 2-5% on your order with my referral code BETWEENDOTS). Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is also available at Olive Young*, it costs $32/12g right now, and you can use my affiliate code BETWEEND0 to save on your order. Is it worth this price? It's hard for me to judge, I got it at a local Sephora with a discount and that's the only reason why I've decided to get it.

Overall, Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment is a big surprise for me and I'm not disappointed because this lip treatment has supported my lips every day since summer 2024.
